Ah, those Cameron lads
I love this series and characters. I reread these books every couple of years. Lynn is a wonderful story teller.

A Truly Lovely Adventure
I'm already a Lynn Kurland fan, so I expected to enjoy the book. However, I was surprised to find out how much I enjoyed the adventure with Derrick Cameron and Samantha Drummond. I finished it in one day, and had that lovely moment of "Wow" at the end of the story. I rated it five stars because of the little plot twists that avoid predictability, plus I really liked these people and their friends.I'm sure other reviews will highlight the story line (it's time travel folks, so believability is optional). I want to touch briefly on the development and evolution of the main and supporting characters. Samantha was incredibly sheltered, but she is not as fragile as she appears. Her character at first appears to be wimpy, but in actuality she grows to discover that kindness is a part of who she is. She also grows in confidence, which reveals her core of strength, resolve, loyalty, love and compassion. She's feisty and smart.Derrick is strong, and does not appear to be a "chivalry first" type of man. But he's real, a bit of a jerk at times, and determined not to like Samantha overmuch. Although he comes through in a pinch, he's a genuine modern day hero, susceptible to injury, pain and a need for help. I love his self-talks, they are both insightful and funny. He is adorable.Of course the expected and surprising connections with characters from other books is always wonderful, but I think what really brought it home for me was the new dimension of sidekicks Oliver, Peter and Rufus. They really got an opportunity to show more of who they are - and they were funny. These are the lads you want to have your back. Swords and knives are generally the weapons of the day, so the cool 21st century James Bond spy gadgets, not to mention the ever popular Aston Martin Vanquish, just added a nice flavor to the story. I must say however, I'm now looking at Ewan in hopes that he gets a lass of his own.:)In spite of all of my name dropping, one can make this the first Kurland book they ever read, and still really enjoy the story on its own. Cheers.

Kurland is hands down the best author I've EVER had the pleasure to read!
First of all, this book is another fantastic accomplishment. Buy it! But, first, if you haven't read any of Lynn Kurland's many other fantastic books, treat yourself by starting near the beginning and work your way to this one, you'll be glad you did - not because this book doesn't stand alone, but because the journey of families and their adventures will just enhance your enjoyment of this story even more. I couldn't possibly do justice to Roses in Moonlight by trying to review the specifics for you - just buy it and enjoy a fabulous read!Although I am an avid reader (almost too avid :-), I RARELY write a review. However, for Lynn Kurland, I gladly take the time to tell others what a simply marvelous author she is. Her stories are interesting, well thought-out, creative and never disappoint. Her characters have depth, humor, their own unique strengths and abilities, and are a joy to read about (whether we love them or dispise them!). The suspense, adventure and time travel elements are well done and exciting. I am especially grateful for her clean, yet moving romances - Thank you SO much for creating passionate love stories without immorality! Her immense talent as an author is a gift to her readers that is delivered with each page and with each and every book! I give my praise out sparingly, but I truly cannot think of another author (and I've read countless authors), who deserves my absolute gratitude for sharing her creativity and talent with me, and for bringing a little extra enjoyment to my life as I read each new book. I truly love journeying along with each of her stories and hope that she will continue to write her romance stories as well as her Nine Kingdoms series. Thank you, Lynn Kurland!

LOVED this author who show's character's love without explicit sex! This is a must read showing REAL love.
Lynn Kurland is an author that can make the sensual sizzle WITHOUT explicit sex, indeed in this book they don't have sex till AFTER the wedding for something really refreshing. This novel is a wonderful investment of time and you watch two characters both evolve and help each other to over-come their own hang-ups and problems that they'd never share with anyone but their "Soul mate".The only problem I had in the very beginning was so many people and names, that they got tangled in my mind but once you get them straightened out in your mind (early on)--then the book takes off and you must hold on to your hat because they travel back in time and make the hair on your neck stand up in attention! This book is all about love, trust, and family! What a refreshing subject to read. It's also about friends helping friends and some good humor.I love Derrick and Sam's story (Samantha) it just lifted my spirits when I needed that lift and gave me great enjoyment.

Awesome as usual!
As always, Lynn Kurland NAILED IT! I love her stories. They always suck me in but without the usual ways writers tend to. Usually the characters seem to fight their own passions forever and in the last chapter everything‘s fine. But with Lynn Kurland her characters actually resolve these things before the end of the book which allows you to revel in their cause without being mad at them.A great book!

Another brilliant book
This book has been long awaited. I have read all of Lynn's books, in this series, and and feel like I am awaiting the next chapter in the life of a family, as they all tie in with each other. The stories are all individual, so if you purchase this as your first book, you won't be missing anything.Lynn has a wonderful way of taking you back in time as well as living in the present, with the ghosts of the past intertwining with their modern day relatives to try and bring them the love and happiness they deserve. I have never been disappointed in any of Lynn's books and eagerly await the next one.

Lynn Kurland writes excellent time-travel, romantic adventures
A lot of chasing after a piece of real "original" Elizabethan lace in the Elizabethan times. Lynn is a excellent writer who will keep you enthralled through the entire book! Great book to read with the Green Tea & Macaroons as you are resting in the afternoons.

A guilty pleasure
Oh how I love Lynn Kurland! She never disappoints. This, alongside all her time travel romances, is a chaste romance, there's no sex, no swearing and such cleanliness would usually put me off. But that is what is magical about Ms Kurland - I don't care that the heroine is virginal and the hero an alpha male, she is a master craftsperson when it comes to characters and I love them regardless of their purity ;) She also has a delightfully dry wit which makes her words a pleasure to read. Do yourself a favour and try her out - on this one or any other of her McLeod or de Pigeat romances.

Where is Robin, Nick, Jake or even John ???
This review presumes that the reader is familiar with Lynn's previous books. But nope, sorry, this one didn't work for me. Much prefer the medieval, chivalrous, cutely funny, earlier books. Even bringing in characters from before, i.e., Sunny and Patrick didn't help as they were just cameos and didn't add anything to the plot, such as it was, and as a previous reviewer mentioned, there wasn't much of one anyway. Really dislike saying this about Lynn's book, but hopefully we'll be back to the middle ages soon. :-)
