Works well, but needs a little tech knowledge
I order this to hook an old PS2 Guitar Hero controller to my PC. The adapter functions perfectly fine, but as many others have said, the whammy bar and the strum interfere with each other. However, I installed the DsHidMini drivers and utility (google it, and follow the installation instructions), and now everything works correctly. The default XInput mode works well, but I switched the controller to SXS mode to be more Playstation-like. It would be better if 3rd-party drivers were not needed and the adapter would simply expose the inputs correctly, but it's a cheap adapter so I won't complain about that.I also tested a real PS1 dual analog controller, and after the newer drivers listed above were installed, all aspects of the controller worked correctly. An off-brand PS2 controller worked completely fine as well, including pressure-sensitive triggers.Lastly, I tested the adapter with both a RedOctane soft dance pad and a generic DDR control box, but neither worked at all. The adapter was recognized, but diagnostics showed an "unknown sensor type" and no inputs were responsive. I didn't buy it to handle those so I'm not removing any stars. If you're comfortable downloading and installing drivers, I would recommend this adapter.

Does not work for PS1 controllers.
I tested multiple Dual Shock pads as well as two different arcade sticks (all for PS1) and could not get it to register any input with any device. The adapter is seen as a "PLAYSTATION(tm) 3 controller", but does not register any input.

Works with Clone Hero but you NEED TO DOWNLOAD DRIVERS!
I needed the SCPToolkit drivers to get it my old PS2 guitar working on Clone Hero. Look up "Clone Hero SCPToolkit reddit help" and they'll help you figure out how to install it. I found my old childhood PS2 guitar and it still works - this adapter was the only thing I needed to be able to play it on my PC. The whammy bar doesn't work, however I don't know if that's the adapter or it being such an old guitar. However everything else works, there's no input lag, and even the tilt feature worked for me!I saw others say they had a paper in their package with a QR code for drivers. I didn't have that, however I didn't use those ones anyways. SCPToolkit is all you need for Clone Hero (as of May 2024)!

Compatible, to a Point
When I had purchased a similar adapter over a decade ago, I could not get it to register with my original 60gig PS3, to allow me to play my expansive library of PS2 games, thus I had returned it.This year, I had purchased a similar adapter for use with my PS2 wheel and FPS controller. The first one was lost in delivery and thus resorted to this particular model when the question read that it could register the PS2 wheel. The item had arrived and I was able to first test out my wheel on a racing game, it performed wonderfully on a PS3 game and I tried again with my FPS controller and it worked just as well. Then I tried to play Playstation Classics with either controller and even a default Dualshock 2 controller, and I had mixed results. Sometimes it does not register, sometimes it cannot recognize the analogue controls, so it is largely the fault of software. I had purchased it so that I may future proof my rather specialized controllers for PS4 and later consoles if and when I ever get around to purchasing either of them. Still, it would have been nice if I could actually play a Dualshock 2 controller on either the PS2 and PSOne Classics I've downloaded from the PSN, but it is not always clear or compatible, it would defend on the game utilized and largely trial and error. Then I tried to use it on my PC. Again, it would not register even after I had downloaded and installed the driver. I am unsure if it is due to the XBox 360 controller driver interfering but I simply could not get my PC to register it for gameplay. It had recognized the name of the controller but little else beyond it. Both actual PC games and emulators simply could not find it.All I can advise is that the hardware works as advertised, but the software leaves much to be desired and unfortunately the manufacturer and seller of the adapter could only do so far on the software and driver side. It is cheap in comparison, and especially compared to other more contemporary USB controllers, but it should be warned that it is not an end-all, be-all solution when it comes to anything other than PS3 games.ADDENDUM: Recently, I had wondered if the adapter would work with a physical PSOne Disk instead of an emulated one and thus tested it out. After succeeding trials and experiments with not only a physical PSOne Disk but also aforementioned PSOne and PS2 Classic emulated games and eventually found that a good percentage of the above issues with them can be circumvented largely by making sure that the controller is indeed configured as the primary controller as opposed to secondary and thus the ability to have the analogue sticks be recognized in the game. Though one should be forwarned that in terms of the PS2 Classic emulated games, the digital pad as well as the analogue button that is recognized as the PS button are overly sensitive. In fact, the PS3 and said emulated game simulates a single push as several. I am unsure if this is due to the software or if there is an issue of the controller itself, but previous experience would refer me to the latter. This is barely enough for me to justify a higher rating, but it is something that should be considered.EDIT: I had just tried it on my PS4 and it recognized it as a Dualshock 3 controller. Thus, it can't be used. Oh well, there goes future proofing my controllers.

Works perfectly
Works good. Had to really make sure the ps2 controller part was fully connected to the cable and then it worked perfectly. No driver installation needed

IT WORKS!
I thought it wouldn't work at first. You really have to shove the adapters together to make them fit. And the key mapping was messed up but that's not the adapters fault. You just have to remap. If you're using Clone Hero some of the buttons might not work but there's ways around it, just dig around online for answers.

E-Waste (garbage with a price tag)
They are literally making people pay to receive their trash. These adapters don't work just plug and play. There are no available driver files anywhere online. I have tried for hours to get this adapter working with PCSX2 and Im getting nowhere. This is NOT plug and play for PC at least.
