It really increases the heat output of our fireplace.Very sturdy pieces, very fast delivery.

This fireback is very heavy cast iron and very good quality for a reasonable price.We've yet to light up the first fall fire in the fireplace, but this came on time and we went ahead and installed it in each fireplace - one in the den/media room and one in our covered outdoor deck. The fireback arrived before the feet (the more upright Homecomfort, not the slanted feet). To be honest, at just a slight tilt, the fireback is so heavy that it stays in place without the support feet, at least in our usage. We also have a substantial iron grate in each fireplace that'll keep the fireback in place. It's nice to have this to protect the back of the fireplace an radiate heat forward.

Bought this fireback last year and have used it all winter (writing in April). It's solid and has noticeably increased the amount of heat directed into the room. Am now sitting about 10 feet away and can feel the warmth. Have not had any problem with peeling -- it has remained black so is almost invisible against the back of fireplace. Good value for money.

Recommended. Best value for firebacks I researched. Puts off extra heat. The fireback is only 5/8” thick and not 1” as advertised. This affects the size feet you’ll need for it otherwise it’ll flop around in it like ours. Trying to devise a spacer to fix the issue, but nothing yet.

Wow, this fireback is awesome! So simple to set up: just slip the iron fireback into the two little feet and place it as close to the back of your firebox as you are able. I pushed the wood-grate right up against the fireback and the smoke still draws up the chimney just fine! You can feel the heat of the fire from two feet away instead of having to be right up next to the fireplace. I wish I would have purchased one of these years ago!!

I really didn't expect much from this item but thought I'd give it a try since some of the bricks in the back of my fireplace were cracking and I had to repair some mortar. I thought this would at least protect them. It does much more. This Fireback works amazingly well. There is so much heat from the front of the fireplace that my wife can no longer sit in front of it unless she is at least 6 feet away. It works, don't know why but it does!

This device was recommended by our chimney sweep to both increase efficiency and protect the mortar at the back. We are pleased so far. It does look a bit like a headstone, however :)

Adds more warmth and stays warmer longer using this.
