Best thing I’ve bought for the big block
Bought this starter for my 78 460, i was having trouble with hot starts. Bought multiple oem starters and after a couple months they were done. I have long tube headers and the starter was right under the passenger side. I haven’t had any issues with the power master starter. It cranks so much better now. Hot, cold, whenever. I definitely recommend if you are having trouble with heat soak, or high compression engines.

Starter no-longer overheats
We needed a starter to replace the one we had because the one we had was larger and therefore closer to the engine exhaust causing it to get hot and not able to start after warming up. This has a smaller housing which allows extra distance away from the exhaust. We've had it for about a month and works very well. We tried heat wrap and had no succuess.

A must have for a high compression engine.
Well built American made. Starter is no joke. Must make sure the battery is fully charged. Good grounds are also a must.

Very, very happy! This is hands down the best starter that I could've bought and didn't even break the bank! Have 2 big block Ford's that have been suffering from slow engine crank and heat soak, this starter solved the problems.

Works
Works great for my street/strip 400m with 12:1 compression. Absolutely love the 360° clocking makes installation with larger oil pan and headers go very smoothly. Heat doesn't seem to be an issue as mine only has about 1/2" clearance from the headers

Great product!
Great starter that is easy to install. Basic skills at making jumper wires will be needed for lugs and heat shrink. As stated in the instructions, ensure you measure distance to verify if the shim is or is not needed. It is very compact so you shouldn't have any problem installing it in any tight areas, especially if you're replacing old, bulky OEM style starter on an old 462 engine.

Just what I needed
1980 F150 with 406 Stroked Big Block. Tried to get by with original starter. Too much compression was too much and after installing Powermaster 9506, not an issue anymore. Fits perfectly.
