Nice idea but no it doesn’t do that you have to turn it manually

this winch needs a 12 v battery

Q: can this be connected to household mains supply

The only way you could get this winch to work with a transformer would be if you used a transformer to charge a battery and connected the winch to the battery but the transformer recommended should not be used as it has no way to cut out when the battery is fully charged if you used a high output battery charger connected to the battery and connected the winch then you would be using the mains power via the battery to operate the winch, in the past I use to have two of these winches on my sail boat to lift the dingy up to the davits as towing it would slow my sail boat down by around 20 to 25% which is a huge difference on a long leg of a trip.
