I did a bunch of research and looked at a variety of cargo carriers- roof mounted, hitch mounted, etc. I also scrutinized the closest comparable products from Oklead and others. The reason I selected the Mockins hitch mounted cargo carrier is because it offered the best value on paper. It included the well advertised accessories like straps, hitch stabilizer, waterproof cargo bag. It all works great. Pretty easy to assemble, though an extra set of arms would be best to attach to hitch. Super sturdy, easy drive and I tested the drive on back roads and highways. Secures well. Terrific package. One disclaimer unrelated to this product- I added an after market Curt hitch mount to my Equinox and it does ride lower to the ground than I’d like. So those speed bumps at campgrounds knocked the bottom of the hitch while driving to my site. Still, the Mockins hitch mount Cargo Carrier works really well for. Allowed for additional cargo, opened up space in the car and I felt confidence driving with the new ingredient. Perhaps the best part of this transaction was Ingrid from Mockins customer support. Had a little mix up with a part. She was incredibly accessible, responsive and communicative. And the small problem I encountered was solved. She should get a raise because it’s hard to find user friendly support like she offered. She was personable and worked with urgency. Like my problem mattered to her. Love that. I love this product and company. I’ll buy more from them based on my experience with the quality of the product I purchase and the after hours support I needed.

After reading a few reviews and comparing several other cargo carriers, I decided to go with this one because of the size and weather proof bag. I am from SoCal and recently took a trip to Mammoth Lakes with my family. For anyone who doesn't know, Mammoth was hit with a big snow storm, so keeping our luggage dry and clean was very important. ASSEMBLY - Very easy to assemble with clear instructions QUALITY - The quality of the carrier is heavy duty and very sturdy. I wasn't sure if I needed the stabilizer, but decided to use it, considering the long drive. It did not rattle or make any noise driving on the highway or in the snow. CARGO BAG AND ACCESSORIES - Main factors for choosing this item was the weather proof bag and accessories. -Cargo Bag is very thick, and has a heavy duty zipper and strong velcro across the top for extra protection. We drove in very cold temps and arrived in Mammoth during moderate snow fall. Everything in the bag (luggage, blankets, pillows) were completely dry, with no exhaust smell! -Accessories are very generous with two bright orange ratchet straps, cargo net, stabilizer, locking pin to change position of the carrier (in use or folded), and a swivel head receiver pin. (I ended up buying a master lock swivel head receiver lock to ensure the cargo is not stolen when in use). A very cool feature is the position of straps on the cargo bag. comes with a total of 6 straps (3 in the front, 3 in back) to ensure your bag is secure SIZE - The size of this carrier was perfect for my family of five. In the bag, i was able to fit two carry-on sized suitcases, three carry-on size duffel bags, four sleeping bags and pillows, misc. board games, with room a little room to spare. PROFILE - My stock Kia Sorento has a lower profile location for the towing receiver, so the shank rise was very important. The only time the carrier scraped was when driving up steep curbs. I was able to access the trunk with ease. POSITION CHANGE - Very easy to change positions. just pull out the pin, fold up, then put the pin back in when the carrier is not in use. I am very satisfied with this purchase and consider this a great investment for our family trips throughout the year. My father-in-law is now considering purchasing one of these. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking to purchase a cargo carrier

The product is great! The hauler is foldable, so when it is not needed it can be folded up out of the way. It also comes with a heavy duty storage bag, so if anything needs to carried outside of the car, it can place inside the bag. The bag has a heavy duty zipper and velcro under the turndown flap so the bag is waterproof. When the bag isn’t needed, it can also be folded and put away. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a way to carry things outside of their car.

There's plenty to be said about this Mockins Hitch Cargo Carrier. GREAT and not so great! While I do intend to follow up on this review after my return trip, my one way voyage with this unit was ALMOST flawless. Everything assembled well. I used my own tools which I highly recommend. I dont even believe my unit came with tools. Will check back. NOTE: PHOTOS SHOW AFTERMARKET STABILIZER NOT THE INCLUDED UNIT The BAD: My single complaint at this time ( seen in other reviews and absolutely confirmed in mine ) The washers included especially with the "anti rattle stabilizer" attachment, need a severe upgrade. Not only did I crank right through their dexterity, they bent like a soda can. In other words, they failed, and so did the entire stabilzer assembly, after seeing the washers failed, I disassembled only to see the entire u bar was stripped and near impossible to remove. I upgraded to a much heavier duty version from HARB** FREIG**. FOR 11.99 AND WAS COMPLETELY satisfied with its stability. After upgrading the stabilizer this unit is a 5/5. The GREAT: EASY assembly Very mild and modern look Fits like a glove and locked into my Explorer just fine. It secured 5 carry on size bags side by side with a few beach chairs WITH EASE The bag is thick and rugged. We are VERY happy so far

Very sturdy, seems well built. Won't know reliability until I have it for a few years but it seems like it will last. I packed this with alot of stuff. In order, its a screen tent, two good sized foldable tables, 9 person Coleman tent, 1 child's sleeping bag, 1 youth sleeping bag, a very large two person queen sized sleeping bag(same height as the bag and as round as a 15" tire), a propane tank, queen size airbed, queen size air mattress, and then I stuffed random things in the empty spaces that would fit. Incredible amount of stuff went in. Very happy

We purchased this on sale for a camping trip. Normally we just stuff the car , but with a dog , and a baby and multiple stops to make we just didn’t have the room. Within an hour or so I had it assembled and on our pathfinder. It’s a game changer. Comes with straps , locking pin and the water proof bag came in very handy as we had 30-40mm of rain 3 days in a row. Everything is high quality and it comes off the car easily enough. I was worried I’d feeling it bouncing around but I honestly had no idea it was even there. We were able to fit a large tote , a cooler and various other items on the bag with room to spare.

We live in Canada. Assembled quite easily , huge amount of room, the bag is great to keep goods from getting dusty. We utilised it the week we received it out in the back country, very bumpy gravel roads and it stood up very well....I'm very happy with this product
