Coats Crochet 180.0201 Extra Fine Crochet Thread, 30, White

A beautiful, bright crochet thread. I bought this thread to re-attempt a vintage hair pin pattern (Hair Dos Pattern #2493) that I originally made using Size 10 thread. Something that was learned rather quickly when work began was that the recommended 0.75mm steel crochet hook - bought along side this thread - is too small for this thread. Doable, but torture in the making.I wound up switching to my 1.50mm steel crochet hook and it worked a lot better. Any steel hook between 1mm and 2mm will work with the thread. Using anything smaller and you'll run into problems; like grabbing and maintaining hold of the thread when trying to pull through loops.On another note, don't go by hook number (00, 1, 2, etc.) when searching for hooks. Go by sizing (mm) as that will make the search process a little less of a headache. In addition to this, go for the comfort grips whenever available.Pattern: From freevintagecrochet.com/hat-patterns/spool175/hair-dos-patternThe pictures:1) Bottom wing was made with the 0.75mm hook (comfort grip). Top wing and circle was made with the 1.50mm hook (no comfort grip).2) Compare and contrast - #10 with unbranded 1.50mm ergonomic hook vs #30 with 0.75mm Clover Amour Steel Hook and 1.50mm Boye Steel hook (smaller than the unbranded ergo one).

The thread was a little thinner than my original thread I had purchased. It took longer to get here than it was originally designated. Other than that it was fine.

I was designing a major lace project, but having no luck at all finding size 30 white crochet thread. I finally found it here. I was able to order enough to complete the project (about 7 balls) and get all the same color white. The thread itself is excellent quality, and a nice clear white color. It worked fine and the project, an 1830's pelerine collar, came out gorgeous!

I actually got this crochet thread in the mail much sooner than expected!! I love the quality of the thread as well! I'm already hard at work on a piece I'm donating to a charity auction and couldn't be happier with it!

I can no longer purchase this weight pearl cotton in our local craft stores so I was very pleased to be able to order it. Great quality and true to color

Was finer than I thought it would be. Threads are not numbered like they were years ago when I crocheted a lot, nor are the hooks numbered the same
