Does the job
What can I say about this item, I needed a replacement and this was a great choice. It was easy to fit and was great value considering what I was quoted elsewhere. The product came with clear instructions for its fitting which also allowed me to make adjustments should I require them.

Fits the macdee 50100 / 50200
Based on other reviews I saw that this fits the macdee 50100/50200. I only needed the inner part that shuts the water on and off. It slotted into place dead easily. Job done in seconds and works great. Really chuffed, and saved me calling out a plumber for a simple job.

Check overflow setting when installing.
Carefully check overflow when installing. Factory setting would, if overflowing, lead to water spilling over into bathroom rather than toilet. Easy fix, just be aware.

Perfect retirement for my AFV50100
Perfect swap for my old AFV50100 unit. All I had to do was twist and pull out the old unit leaving the original bracket and doughnut seal in place, then twist in the new unit which fit perfectly into the bracket and now the toilet works as it should. Excellent product.

Compatible with AFV40100 and AFV40200 bases
For those who are wondering if this will replace the now out of production AFV40100 or AFV40200, the answer is YES it will! It was a direct swap, no need to dismantle the cistern just twist out the old body and fit the new one.If your toilet isn't refilling and constantly dripped water then this is for you.It wasn't clear to me if I could simply remove the top half of the old cistern valve, and replace it with this new one so I took the plunge (pun intended). I'm pleased to say that the whole process took me all of 2 minutes! I took pictures along the way in the hope it'll help someone out there. It was a direct swap, no need to dismantle the cistern just twist out the old body (I had to twist mine CLOCKWISE) and fit the new one.As for the dual button it doesn't sit proud by 5cm as others have said, it's completely flush. The chrome fixture needs to be twisted apart and each side sides either side of the lid and is screwed on.I've tried to include as many pictures as possible in the hope all this makes sense and hopefully prevents you from having to pay for a plumber to visit.I hope you found this review helpful.

How long should this last ?
I give this 3 stars because I bought one in October 2019 (as the one that came installed with our bathroom about 5 years previously had broken - plunger mechanism was jamming so water was continually flushing into the bowl) but it has only lasted until August 2021 - with the same problem. I don't know for £20 whether this is what I should expect in terms of longevity. It has been used heavily by 3 adults so maybe I should expect it not to last. Plus we live in a hard water area. I've bought the same again because I know it fits and it takes only a few minutes to replace (as I only need to replace the central cartridge and not refit the entire thing in the cistern. And the cartridge is a simple 1/8 turn anti-clockwise to remove and the reverse to insert replacement). I might dissassemble my old one to see why it was jamming because outwardly I can't see a problem, but the problem has gone away with a new one.
