several say the glass is very thin and fragile. Want to put 8 year old grandsons ostrich egg in - any thoughts?

I found this item to be of good quality for displaying most anything. Did not find the glass to be too thin. It’s fragile, of course, as any glass is, but fine for displaying.

Will this dome help prevent silver objects from tarnishing?

I doubt it. It may slow it down. You may be able to put some anti-tarnish cloth inside the dome on the base to help slow it.

Can i fill this with epoxy resin

I believe it could if you fill it upside down. The glass dome does not have any holes.
