Came as described. Worked perfectly.
Worked perfectly. Only pieces that were missing were the grey weather stripping on top, heat coil, actuators, and passenger side duct. For anyone planning to do this on their own, watch the videos on youtube. You will need pliers, channel locks, p2 Phillip's, t20, 13mm deep socket, 10 mm deep socket, and either a flat head or some type of pry bar to pop off the dash panels. You will have to remove the entire dash, windshield panels, center console, heat and ac line from the engine, and steering wheel. Its cramped in there as well, you might consider the front seats. When in doubt if you'll remember how to put it back together, take pics with you phone.

It's an OEM part
It came thou with a couple of things damaged, one in the outer border, son no big deal on that one, the other one was the left "pipe", that was broken in it's base, ( had to use the part from the old part I was replacing ), besides that, it does what it promises to do... ( ALWAYS BUY WITH THE SEAL KIT ).

One of the gears already broken
I ordered the distribution housing for my 2012 libety because the mode gears on mine was broken. However, the new one is also came broken due to improper/wrong assembly of gears. I don't recommend this product, look from someone else, who provide properly assemlbed one. As replacing this thing is not easy and believe me you don't want it to fail in a month due to improper assembly of box.

Replacement heater box air distribution unit for 2012 Jeep Liberty
For those who were on the fence, this is the actual part. I've attached pictures of what I received. This is the "heater box", "air distribution box" for the 08-12 Jeep Liberty. My understanding is that it fits the Dodge Nitro as well. There is a foam seal that I had to reuse from the old one to the new one. It wasn't a big deal, I just peeled it off and used hot glue to reattach it to the new box. Mine did not come with the actuators, the passenger side door duct, nor the heater core. You will have to reuse these parts or buy them separately. The reason I had to repair this in my Jeep was because the teeth broken off on the gear that changed the directional from window defroster to feet. You can see it in one of the photos. There was no other way to fix it.There are a couple of good YouTube videos on how to get everything apart. If you decide to take on this project, take it slow and be sure you have 2 days to work on it. I spent about 7 hours on day one getting everything apart. Good luck to you.

Hope it lasts
I never want to have to tear this thing out again.I followed a Youtube video for replacing this without removing the steering wheel or A/C. In hindsight, I probably should have because it was a pain to get it to fit in such a tight space while working over a half-attached dash. Lots of cuts and bruises, plus a lost weekend. But hey... saved a $1000 labor to have a shop do it.In the end, though, it works well and now I can control which direction the air is coming from.I also replaced the heater core while I was at it. Sliding a new one into this box was a lot easier than trying to swap the old one.

This housing sits on the main hvac case. It is original equipment. High quality part. No trouble with installation. However,, you need to know the dash comes out for this repair.
