This is a great hand tool
I really love this tool. I am a professional gardener and since I got it I use it all the time when working in borders and flower beds. I also use it alongside a bigger mattock when digging out shrubs or old roots as it can get into small spaces. Because it is forged-and it looks hand forged and hand finished -you can re sharpen sharpen the blade and it is great for cutting small woody roots, digging out bramble roots or just simply weeding. It should be made clear that this is a hand tool for use with one hand..it is not a full sized mattock which it resembles . It is only 17 " long and is light and easy to use. There is a small hole for fixing a screw to fix the head to the handle more securely.. My advice is to do that as soon as you can as the product-or mine anyway didn't have that screw or stud. Really like this.

Great balance and heft, and an effective garden tool
This is one of the most fun garden tools I have. I'm using it to take up a patch of moss/weeds that passes for a small front lawn (to replace with gravel).I thought it would take ages with this, and didn't want to get a full size mattock. However, I was able to take up about half (6m2) in about 40 mins over lunchtime. I'll need to remove the other half, the use it to dig out 5cm of the soil, so this little tool is going to get a lot of work. The heft is pretty good, as is the balance, meaning it's easy to get into a rhythm. The blade is such that it cuts satisfyingly under the turf and you can work the entire line, about 10" deep, at a time.Taken off a point for lightweight, though. Whilst it is pretty well balanced, after 40 mins I ended up with a blister on the base of my finger in a really awkward place.

Simple but well priced
This did exactly what I needed it for - reducing bulging roots under a path. The blade needs to be sharper to be properly called an adze and the head eventually became loose. But a few minutes with a file and adding a screw sorted both. It's a simple tool, simply made. Right size and right weight.

Cheap and cheerful
Ok you can pay more and get a better tool but this tool did the job it was bought for. The blade was good, the wooden shaft stood up to the task, my only gripe would be that the plastic handle slid up the shaft easily, this would be better glued in place, putting a small screw through the handle held it in place for the duration of the job, good for small jobs and amateur gardeners

Dangerous product
This product is so cheap it is dangerous. It after a couple of strokes the handle comes off. It is made so poorly, the minimum yiu would expect is a bit of glue to make this safe. It's basically a piece of wood with a very poor blade on the end an an ill fitting handle.I will not use this because of the risk. Imagine if it flies off when I am using it..

Great tool. Easy to use. Achieves great results on hard clay soil.
I love this small hoe. Great sharp blade for chopping through dry compacted soil. Good balance in the hand. Very lightweight despite being strong. A brilliant find. Now looking for one a companion one with Lon handle but so far can find only the full sized adze joe which is very heavy.

Forged Hoe - Mini Mattock
Used for the first time yesterday and very impressed. It has quite a small head (around 2") but is ideal for scratching the top surface of the garden Being smaller than a standard Mattock it is easier to handle and less strain on the back. Only downside is whatever they supplier has coated the handle / shaft with stinks and I would recommend wearing gloves until this subsides. Overall I am happy to recommend this product.

Not great
The tool head is basic but alright, however its poorly attached to the handle with one tiny and wonky screw. The handle stinks of whatever chemical it’s been coated in and it is a squared length of timber with a cheap rubber handle that will probably not last a day.I will throw the handle and grip in the bin and put a decent one on before using it.

Cheap and crappy tool created in a dusty hot sweat shop, but I love it. I really do!
No one else on the planet likes this small hoe, but I found it to be a perfect tool for delicate garden work, getting in close to living plants. No, it's not for breaking rocks, or deep digging. I didn't want to like it, I read all the reviews - and still bought it.I did glue the handle on, it slips off if you don't.I also drove a screw into the head at the handle to keep the head on, there is already a hole there to use. What I found was the angle of the cutting head is perfect, compared to other hoes I have purchased.
