Grizzly Industrial G0709-14" x 40" Gunsmith Gearhead Metal Lathe

The Grizzly Gunsmithing lathe met all of my expectations and I am pleased with the overall transition.

I bought this lathe back in December 2013 from Grizzly.com (its the same price as amazon) orderd it on Friday and was deliverd the following week by ups fright it came in a BIG BOX the size of a small car I got it set per the book that came with it and leveled EVERTHING worked right out of the box all I had to do was clean the wax off it and fill the gear box with oil I ran it though all of its speeds (the book say run the machine for 10min in each gear range forward and reverse I use this machine everyday making things for hobby and profit at the time of this posting I have run the machine for over 300+ hours and about 600ft metal though the spindle the lathe holds very good accuracy (if you have it leveled with in .0005") I have turned stock that is 11"inches long and 2"inches thick and only had .0001" of taper over the entire length of 11" inches ,the machine cuts threads very good and very accurate, The chuck that came with it is also very good and true over all I highly recommend it ( just so you know I have worked in the machine shops for 30 years so I am not a noob or beginner ) I have videos of this machine and other grizzly machines on you tube heres the link for this machine [...]
