Better than expected
This is my first experience using such a device and i'm very pleased with the results. I've found that its best to make several passes and remove material a little bit at a time. Much faster than using a knife the old way. 100% recommended.

Handy tool
Fotunatly easy to use, no instructions included. Took a few test runs to get a clean cut. There is a very small radial sharp edge on each blade, no idea what that's for.

Easy to use
I bought the more available yellow banding cutter from a local box store, which is really a pain to use. After finding this on Amazon, I thought, "Why not?" I'm glad I did. It is immensely easier!! Just squeeze the sides firmly and run it down the piece. I get a nice even cut each time. I did find that there can be some spots that may seem a little rough. I find this is more from the banding glue than the cutter or banding. I just lightly rub down the sides with a fine sanding block, and it is ready to go. Looks like a commercial finish, and I'm just an amateur!

This tool works, but has a learning curve
I had a lot of trouble getting this tool to work without chipping, scraping, and roughing up the face of the boards I applied veneer to. I finally decided to adjust the razor blades, and magically the tool works perfect. Unfortunately the blades were set to deep right out of the box.It works like a champ now that I have it adjusted properly, but I could have just as easily used and exacto knife and sand paper.

Garbage
I was using this to trim melamine tape to finish unfinished edges after cutting boards for a pantry. It was useless. No matter what I did, either it didn't take off enough material or it cut all the way into the corners of the boards just making things worse. I resorted to using a thin Olga utility knife and it worked so much better there was no comparison. The edges came out looking almost as good as the factory edges. Save yourself the money and headache of using this piece of junk.

5 stars. Please read
I'm not sure if some of the people in other reviews are using this in the correct manner. For the life of me i cannot imagine why someone would want a chamfer on an piece of edge banded plywood. I ordered this dispite the reviews and just loosened the screws for the chamfer blades and slid them out some so they wouldnt contact the work piece. This product works as it should and is priced accordingly in my opinion. If you're trying to "ease the edge" for painting purposes...just run a sanding block or round sander or hand plane down the corner at about a 45 degree angle. If its good enough for my custom cabinetry business it will exceed your expections for a DIY project. Literally paid for its self on the first use!

Dull & snappy,
Not worth spending 20 or even $10. May be good for $5 to have it failed tools collection box.First, there is nothing to hold left and right wedges together. You drop they pop. You bump they pop away. Out of two tention springs one one spring jumped out and hiding somewhere in the shop, to found in next scoop and then I will be returning it back with compliment s.Your had must be very sturdy and experienced to guide it, else, expect a bumpy ride when shaving the edge trim.Blades feel dull on arrival. Yet have to have a decent cut.I don't know if it's just this make or particular manufacturer or they all work the same way. You form your opinion.I am dumping the tool and going old fashioned way using palm router with trim bit.

Nifty gadget that works well, but has limitations
I have used it on oak edge banding of 3/4-inch plywood. It works well where it can reach, and does particularly well if you have a single edge with no obstructions. But if you are doing it on an assembled piece, such as a bookshelf or (as in my case) kitchen cabinets, the cut will start and end more than 2" from the cross piece, and you need to use a razor or utility knife to finish the rest. It can grip an edge as thick as 1-1/4", but for anything more than that, you would have to separate the two halves (don't lose the springs!) and run it along one edge at a time. Separating is easy, as the two piece just pull apart effortlessly, but that also means that the two halves could easily come apart in a tool drawer, and the two springs find drop out. So although I'm glad I bought it, it is pretty much useless if I'm working a short piece of an assembled shelf. Oh, and it comes with replacement blades, which is great, but the challenge is to put the replacement blades where you can find them, as they are not stored inside the trimmer, but come in a little plastic wrapping.
