The Joy of Partner Yoga

This yoga book is the best yoga book I have ever purchased. Perhaps dumb luck, because I purchased the others in a bookstore, not online with only a few pages to view. So, I wasn't hopeful to be honest. The price seemed okay, for a total failure I guess, but it wasn't! It's actually the best yet! The book consists of pictures of couples in the pose. Then there is a description in writing that explains the name of the pose and some helpful notes on how to achieve the end result, which is the picture in the book. The book is for medium to advanced yoga, but all in all, any of the poses you can level down 10 and simple! a beginner yoga book?! I suggest having yoga blocks if you have any weaknesses or injuries. But all in all, the book isn't based on "couples," instead friendship or trust building. It opens your heart up to achieve something along with another, it almost builds a sense of community. I think it is a good one and some poses are more based on "couples," but there is definitely a substantial amount of poses that friends can do together. Overall it's a fun packed book and I highly recommend it. Full disclosure that I purchased the book and I did not receive money to write this review, but I just think it's a good yoga book and if you are into yoga then you know there are many horrible - horrible - HORRIBLE yoga books. This is NOT one of them. Thankfully!

We're loving this book, though it is almost overwhelming it's so packed full of information, asanas, and sets of positions. We've actually been having a hard time putting together series, if only because you turn the page and BAM, here's even MORE you can integrate. What happens is that we either wind up sitting on the floor looking at the book and having a rather disjointed partner yoga session, or we just pick a couple of things at random and attempt to integrate them into a growing routine, because it seems near impossible to try and remember it all without looking, and looking again. Information-wise, it's my favorite partner yoga book out there right now, because it's chock-full, but we've got to figure out a better way to put it to use!

I have nothing bad to say about this book. I have another partner yoga book that I have used for the past two Valentines Days for my partner yoga clinic. The other book is good but nothing like this one! What I really like about this book is that it has vinyasas (or flowing yoga series), not just single poses to try. There is a wide variety of vinyasas and poses that can work for a lot of different demographics. I used it for this year's partner yoga clinic and it went over very well. One thing we found was that the poses and flows that looked hardest were the easiest (and most fun to try)...and the ones that looked easy were quite challenging. I, for one, felt very connected to my partner when we worked on poses and flows and finally succeeded. There is a high sense of accomplishment as a partnership in working on these challenges. I highly highly recommend this particular book for anyone willing to take the challenge with their partner!

Beware! This is a great book but the seller is charging double the price that is listed on the back of the book. What a rip off!

The moves in this book are easy to follow and it's a fun way to spend time with my honey.

I bought this book to broaden my partner options for public classes & found just a few things I could use. But for deepening a relationship this is fabulous! I wished I had known how intimate the sequences were before buying

The book is so helpful! Pictures and word descriptions are really helpful. As a yoga novice this book helps me a lot and makes my friends think I actually know what I'm doing!
