L.M. Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables Two Movie Collection

Enjoyed these two portrayals though I had to “overlook” obvious changes which occur in most Book to Movie creations. I reread the entire 12 book set of these related books, over and over on Kindle. Once every year or two. These movie actors played the roles fairly well, as in reference to the book’s characters.

Very entertaining version. The characters of Anne, Marilla and Mathew are very well cast. Edited somewhat as not nearly as long as previous versions. Still very good. I assume there will be more episodes to come , because the third Dvd does not wrap up Anne's story. ( I ordered the three available right now)

Overall I found these movies entertaining, and the acting was good enough for a production of this type. I just wish they stuck to the original story more, rather than changing it on a whim, for what seems like no reason whatsoever. Most of the time it's just a random change of order of events, which do nothing but hurt the flow of the story. Whether this was the plan or something the editors did, I'm not a fan of it. Most of the characters are faithful to the original thankfully, but one of the main roles is nothing like the novels, I have a feeling that the actor who played the character had a lot to do with that.

I really enjoyed this movie collection of two movies . I love the Anne of Green Gables books and these movies are great with some differences to the books but very enjoyable.

Earlier version is the best and hard to find. Got it as gift and I know the recipient ( a true Green Gables fan) will be happy to add this version to their collection.
