Q: Why is this manufacturer using outdated/incorrect sizing, adding 4 or 5 inches to your correct band size? Did anyone buy true band size successfully?

I did! I am a 34 band and that’s what I ordered and I LOVE THIS BRA!

If I went by their size chart, my cup would have been too small. I used my current cup size which I had to find by trying on bras.

this is how you measure for your correct bra size. measure in inches. take a soft tape measure, measure your rib cage directly underneath your bust (band). pull the tape snug. make sure it is in a straight line around the torso, parallel to the ground. this is your band measurement. my under bust measures 28 inches; therefore i wear a band size 28. now measure your bust. again making sure the tape is in a straight line around the body and parallel to the floor. do not pull the tape snug this time it should be just tight enough not to fall down. flattening the nipple is fine. my bust measures 33 inches. now take your band measurement and subtract from your bust measurement. mine is 33-28=5. so that is a 5 inch difference. always follow UK standard sizes to figure out your true size as they have their bra sizing standardized over there and it is not standardized anywhere else in the world. Then you can convert to any other sizing system. Now just count your cups, i would need the 5th cup as i have a 5 inch difference between bust and band. A,B,C,D,DD,E,F,FF,G,GG,H,HH,J,JJ,K,KK. So my bra size is 28DD. If i followed victorias secret, delmira, or 90% of bra companies they would be telling me to wear a 32A. Which is not only a cup size too small, but the band is almost as big as my bust! the band would be moving all over my torso making me have to adjust my bra all day and it would be smooshing my boobs into my armpits and some how gaping at the top. Measure yourself! Get the right starting size and go up or down a cup or band size from their. never add inches to your under bust measurement and never measure above the breasts!

The bra is lightly lined (for modesty reasons) and underwire works very well for support.
