So nice I had to buy them twice!!
I first tried out the Time May Tell Men’s Merino Wool Hiking Cushion Socks about a year ago, when I started as a conductor. It involves working outdoors and walking consistently on rough terrain, and the socks completely blew me away. These socks are an absolute lifesaver for anyone who spends long hours on their feet in challenging environments. The merino wool material provides unmatched comfort and warmth, keeping my feet snug and cozy even on the toughest terrain. The cushioning offers exceptional support, minimizing fatigue and preventing soreness, so I can stay focused and productive throughout the day. Plus, the moisture-wicking properties keep my feet dry and comfortable, no matter how intense the workload gets. These socks are an essential companion for anyone tackling demanding outdoor tasks.

In depth - 1 month review after wearing 2 pair every other day (15 times each pair)
(Note: I'm on day 7 of my test (Feb 7, 2024) and am giving the socks 5 stars because so far they are holding up as promised. I will lower the rating if necessary as my 1 month test progresses)I've decided to share my personal experience with these "Time May Tell" Merino wool socks over a 1 month period. I bought 2 pair and my test to going to be how these socks hold up when wearing 1 pair all day, washing them in the sink at night, hanging them to dry, then wearing the other pair the next day, washing them at night, hanging them to dry, repeat for 1 month. Why am I doing this test?I am about to go on a 5 week trip where I will be staying in different hotels, in different countries from 2-5 days each. I stubbled onto a YT video where someone recommended Merino wool socks for travel, for a variety of reasons. I really love traveling, but I really hate having to deal with dirty cloths/laundry while traveling, mainly; socks, underwear, and shirts.I like to travel with only 3 pair of socks, but I try to do laundry only once a week which means I find myself often washing socks in the hotel bathroom sink and hanging then to mostly dry but then using the hotel's hair dryer to try to finish the drying process to try to make my cotton socks feel somewhat elastic like they came out of normal dryer. Doing this I find I'm spending far too much time holding a pair of socks over the head of the dryer. It's just too much work.In the video I saw, the person said Merino socks are great because:1. After hang drying only, they don't lose there elasticity.2. They hang dry faster than cotton socks.3. They don't start to smell the way cotton socks do, allowing you to wear them more than one day.My plan is to test the 2 pair of Time May Tell (TMT) socks I just bought by:1. Wearing 1 pair all day, including walking around my place without shoes on, washing them in the sink at night with a bit of laundry detergent, and then hanging them dry to wear, not the next day, but the day after that (I will wear the other pair the next day, wash that pair at night, hang dry, etc.2. I plan on doing this test, not wear any other socks, for 4 weeks to see:a. If the socks get holes in them (some of the 1 star reviews say they socks get holes in them after 1-3 days of wear.b. Will the socks start to smell?b. Will the socks be nice to put on (not stiff and without elasticity like cotton socks do when you only hang dry them)c. Does the wool or only washing them in a sink and hang drying them give me any kind of itchiness or rash?2. I also want to see what happens to socks when they are washed and dried in a dryer. I have heard that you should NOT dry wool socks in a dryer as they will shrink many sizes. I will try this test at the end of the 1 month period. If the socks pass all these tests, my plan is to then buy a 3 new pair and take them on my 5 week trip.So here are the results of the test:Feb 7, 2024 (1 week - I have worn each pair 3 or 4 times, respectively) - How long do they take to dry? So far I have washed each pair at night although a couple times I have been tired and ended up washing them in the morning. (I even wore them in bed all night one night) Where I live it is a mild winter and my place is about 70 degrees inside with about 40-50 percent humidity. I'm finding the socks (after wringing them out and then wringing them out a few more times at random times) take about 16-24 hours to dry. Longer than I was expecting. But so far it has worked out fine. If I wash them at night, then don't wear them until the morning the day after the night I wash them, that is 36 hours. And for my trip I plan on having 3 pair, not 2. But it does mean I will have to not wash any socks 24-36 hours before I leave a hotel. My drying process as been very conservative, inside a bathroom with no windows, fan or cross breeze, never outside or in by a window with sunlight. I've done nothing to speed up the process.- How have they been to put on after they are dry?? This is the great part! Every day I put them on they are like they are brand new. It's almost surreal. They feel soft, thick, clean... exactly the same way thick cotton socks do after they have been dried in a dryer. I'm really amazed and excited about this part. After 7 days I don't feel I'm putting on used (only slightly at this point) socks. - What about smell or any kind of skin irritation? So far not at all. I'm using basic Tide laundry detergent. I do think I will keep this up, but if the socks do start to smell I think I will try one of those detergents that promises to kill bacteria. But I'm curious to just keep using a very basic detergent - one that I can find in any country.- Any wear or holes in the socks? Nope. Not at all. I've wore 1 pair 3 times and 1 pair 4 times and no signs at all of holes. Honestly the socks so far are exactly like they were when I received them.... BUT.... it has only been one week. 3 weeks to go. If they do start to get thin or get holes that is a deal breaker. If after 2 weeks they start to small a little, that can be fixed I think with a good wash in a machine, leaving then in the sun for an hour, etc. But holes can't be fixed. So I'm very happy with the socks so far, but nervous about them not lasting a month as far as holes go, but, no signs of holes so far.Stay tuned for my next update :)UPDATE Feb 18, 2024I was going to do another update on the 14th at the 2 week mark but there wasn't really any point. The 2 pair I'm testing were in the same condition at 2 weeks as at 1 week.I have not worn only the 2 pair of socks for 18 days now. So I've worn each pair 9 times each. In about the last 4-5 days I got a little lazy and didn't wash every night, so I ended up wearing the socks 2 days in a row. They were actually fine to wear 2 days in a row. I did turn them inside out over night, but in the morning they felt reasonably fresh. They have been holding their elasticity very well.At 18 days I am seeing no wearing at all of the heals or anywhere. Some of the 1 star reviews say these socks had holes after 2 or 3 days. I really don't see how that is possible unless the wearer has feet made of sandpaper. After 9 days of wear all 4 socks are just fine. I do wonder if when some of the reviews say "holes" maybe the stitching wasn't great and a hold formed that way. But with the 2 pair I have I have not had that problem. So for no holes or thinning at all.To see how they would hold up, a few days ago I did wash 1 pair with the rest of my clothes in warm water (not hot) and they came out of the washer in great shape. I did not put them in the drier. I am really curious to see what would happen to them if I did put them in the drier and will try that after my 1 month test is up.One days I slept at night with the socks and wore them them part of the morning. They did smell slightly, but after a hand wash they were fine again. Also, I'm not getting any kind of a rash from the wool. So for at least me that has not been a problem.I will do another update if there is something to report, but if not I'll keep my test going till the month is up and report back.

comfort non shrink
I just ordered another set of these sock as they are so comfortable, winter, spring, summer or fall. I am 6' 180 pounds size 12 shoe with slender legs and ordered a large and they fit perfectly. I have worn this brand for over a year and they have held up with repeated washings with NO problems. I am extremely fussy about socks as some burn my feet but not these wool socks, cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The brown color is not really brown but more of a blackish/gray. I do have the gray socks and they are definitely gray. They do not ride down on my legs. Hope this review was helpful and I really recommend this brand.

Amazing socks!
These are the most amazing socks in the entire world! Walking miles and miles a day as a veterinarian and Ranch owner it's hard finding socks that don't cause blisters with my heavy boots, or slide down as I'm running through thick brush. I also just used these socks the last couple months finishing up hay season and there are zero holes, zero tears, or fraying. And they are still just as perfect as they were on day one! Our whole family is ordering these and getting extra sets that's how much I've talked about them. It's crazy how they are lightweight, but the performance and appearance are that of a really thick wool sock without making your feet hot, tired, blistered, or sweaty! You really do get the best bang for your buck with these!

My son likes them
My son got these for a multi-day hike he was going on. They worked great. Then he got a job where he needed steel toed boot, and his brother had some, but they were slightly too big. He's been wearing these thick socks, and it makes the boots fit better.

Lasted about 5 months
The socks were pretty comfortable, but unfortunately they didn't prove to be very resistant, and in about 5 months of moderate use (worn 1 - 2 times a weeks, washed every 2 weeks) they developed holes. Before that though they began pilling pretty badly after a month of use.

soft and warm
bought these to layer with a ankle sox in my work boots, even without the second pair of layering sox these wool sox would be toasty warm, here in Canada with temps going down below the zero mark, these sox are guaranteed to keep your feet warm and dry. excellent purchase, should of bought these years ago for work.

Synthetic
I was fooled by 80 percent merino wool blend which I thought was 80 percent merino wool and 20 percent something else. They seemed synthetic and when I put a sample strand in a flame it melted rather than the charring and burnt hair smell from a strand I knew was 80percent wool. They are alright for dog walks but won't be coming on any proper hikes.
