Definitely what I needed during tomato canning season. Actually it kind of exceeds expectations. I'm thinking this is one of those handy dandy tools that I won't use a lot but will be here for years down the road for those certain things. I would definitely recommend it and would buy it again

Ok, I don't know about the in-charge portion of the heading, but this Large Scoop Colander is perfect for removing cheese curd from the pot of whey, easily. I have tried pouring off the whey and for me, it just doesn't work. I have a 12-quart stock pot for making cheese. Lifting that when filled with 2 gallons of milk curds and whey is very heavy and hard to pour without spilling it everywhere. This Large Scoop Colander has a really wide and deep bowl that allows me to dip out large amounts of curds without spilling it all over the kitchen floor. And trust me when I say that whey is extremely sticky when you spill it on the floor. With this scoop, I can separate the curds from the whey is just minutes, with no mess. I guess that does make it 'in charge'!

When It arrived I thought it was too big. Well I was wrong! I use this all the time with pasta! This is a favorite kitchen tool! I can scoop out the pasta with ease, instead of taking the pot to the sink and dumping it into a colander. I prefer this method, and it is much safer for me!

I’m using this tool for skimming fat from the top of my stews, soups . I also use it as a colander.

This thing is great. I use it all the time. Canning, everyday cooking, skimming. If fact, I was surprised how much use it is. Big enough to lift some larger foods from a pot. Great item and very handy.

A nice rounded bowl on the scoop. Sturdy.

It appears to be a sturdy product. But, a few things to note. #1 the edge, across from the handle, is slim. I can't rest the colander across the top of the pot to drain contents. It won't stay, but falls back into the pot. #2 the edges of the holes are very precise/ sharp. Because they are not smooth food stuff tends to stick to the holes more making it more difficult to clean.I use this mostly to drain the curds from the whey when making cheese. I would not recommend this product for that purpose. I have also tried using it for draining pasta, but the lack of the edge means I can't set it down full if a child needs me or I need to pull something out of the oven real quick. This is a slight inconvenience. I think this product would work well if you were using it to pull stuff out of hot oil..... Happy shopping
