Extremely unique flavor ... Some broken pieces in the bags.
I was on a vacation Italy and staying at a 5-star hotel. There were a bowl of these on the check-in desk and I had never quite tasted anything quite like it before, so I took a picture of the wrapper and ordered them the minute that I returned to the US. Because these are made in Italy, they aren't easy to find in the wild here in the US ... but worth it for me to have on my desk at work to watch people's reactions (mostly positive) to trying them. The taste of these is very hard to describe ... at first, it almost tasted to me like orange creamsicle with a nutty aftertaste. Apparently, they are hazelnut and almond, which when put together doesn't taste like a hazelnut or an almond ... they almost combine to make a new, unique flavor I have never had. (I am not a huge fan of hazlenut normally, but these really don't taste like that.) There is a very tiny hint of vanilla and light citrus. I am fairly picky when it comes to my candy and these are easily the most unique and smoothest tasting candy I've had. It is also nice that it is not overly sweet. The only issue I have had with these is that they come in plastic bags and a few of the candies got broken in transit. At $6 per bag, that is $1 per ounce, so kind of expensive for a few pieces to arrive broken. (especially because there is a small creamy center) You get two 6 ounce bags for $12 ... which actually fills a good-sized bowl. The expiration date is one year from now, so they are fresh.I did notice that if you don't need the original packaging, there are other listings which offer 2 pound bags for only $6 more than the 12 oz. you get here ... it just doesn't come in original packaging.Overall, I don't mind spending a little more than on my traditional candy from the US. They look classy on my desk and remind me of our trip to Italy. As long as you are okay with a slight nutty taste and don't mind that this isn't quite as sugary-sweet as American candy tends to be, it's something you may want to try. I hope my review has been helpful to you.

Great hard candy
This is now on my list of all-time favorite candies. The thin shell has a citrus-vanilla flavor, with a hint of (I think) nutmeg, and the filling is a great cream that combines almonds and hazelnut.

Not what they used to be. They don’t have a lot of cream in them.
Not as good as it used to be. They have gone downhill a little bit. They don’t have much cream in the middle.

BEST HARD CANDY EVER!
The flavor is super complex, can't quiet define it. I have to say that this is the best hard candy I have ever had. It has a soft nutty filling. I just wish I had known about it sooner.
