8 Pounds of 99.99% Pure Bismuth Metal - Unique Metals

I have purchased this item several times, and it is consistently a quality clean product.

Its a couple of bismuth metal poured into castings, a bit heavier than stated amount. Looks right.

I am playing with making crystals and enjoy this.

I received my bismuth as expected, no complaints from me.

If doing craft crystal making, get as much of this as you can afford. 8 pounds melts down to not very deep depending on how wide your container is. I’m using a small glass kiln to heat this and that worked very well. But I came on to order more. I used a 5” wide pot, and 8lbs made about 1” depth. Crystals formed very easy but didn’t have far to go before hitting the bottom. I thought about using a martini shaker since that would give depth to less volume, but it was too tall for my little kiln. Looks like fun if I can afford to get enough to make it worthwhile.

When ordering bismuth, or other metals, my primary concern is whether or not it is bismuth (or the appropriate other metal). This is, in fact, bismuth. I can't vouch that it is 99.99% pure, but by eye-balling I'm going to say it's certainly in the 99.97%+ range. I confess I didn't bother weighing it, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it was 8lbs.The packaging wasn't pristine, but since it's a big hunk of bismuth, who cares? You certainly shouldn't.Order this bismuth in full confidence. It's definitely bismuth, and probably 8lbs.

Exactly what I ordered

Was told it was heavy and was not sure how much was going to come in. Weight was actually described. Shared a photo to show size with a quarter. Can't wait to start melting it down
