Dual Desk DeClutterer
Adding a 2nd 28" monitor to my desk necessitated having both of them off the desktop. One monitor was wall mounted, that mount will be repurposed. This is a heavy duty mount that comes with a desktop clamp or an option to use a drilled hole. The clamp mount is plenty sturdy, even on pressboard. Easily assembled, my only complaint is that the VESA/monitor rotation swivel is loose but it cannot be tightened. I dismounted the monitor (easily/quckly done) but there is no way to tighten this joint. It relies on monitor balance to be level. The springs that provide the counter-weight are easily tightened with the included allen wrench. I have one monitor in portrait mode, the other in the traditional landscape position located in a wrap around configuration at the corner of an L-shaped desk/hutch. The landscape monitor is in the hutch/under a shelf. This monitor can be moved close enough so that the left corner overlaps a vertical support placing it adjacent to the portrait monitor. The range of motion vertically as well as horizontal is very reasonable. I have six inches under the portrait monitor (from the top of the desk) and I might be able to get another inch if I tried.Cable management is nicely integrated (overlooked at first sight). It is effective enough but at the "cost" of needing a nice length of video & power cable -- not the product's problem. One other item, included with the product are two VESA mounting plates (one for each arm) that are capable of either 75 or 100 mm mounts, and two sets of mounting screws (smaller and larger). The 75mm monitor mounting plate, because it also supports 100mm mount, has a bit of overhang. Depending on your monitor's VESA mount location, it could come into play. The Samsung LU28E570DS/ZA monitor has its VESA mounting holes offcenter (towards the top). While it's OK for landscape mode, placing this monitor in portrait mode would not work with this arm -- the arm relies on a balance to keep it level. There is no way to tight the rotation joint down to secure a monitor. This mount can support the monitor.Color is a nickle-silver, classy with plastic guards under the monitor arms.I would recommend this, e.g. I would buy it again, but I don't think I will ever have to replace this at my desk -- I doubt I'll be getting larger monitors... ever. This is my first foray into desktop mounts, previously only working with wall mounts. The vertical positioning with this is nice; the entire unit has a sturdy feel to it without coming off as clunky. It is a very elegant solution and I'm very happy with the selection.

Horrible to assemble. Did every IKEA piece in my life and has an engineering degree but this thing is either crappy quality or impossible to assemble - hate it and scratched even my brand-new desk with it!

A standard monitor arm.
Monitor arms seems to be standard. I think gladiator Joe actually specializes in the VESA adapters for monitors that don't have them.
