Seems to help esophagitis heal
Edited to add a few years later: This is a lifesaver for me to have on hand. I have learned that I have a hiatal hernia, and can get a flare up of GERD if I deviate from routine. When I have a flare up, my throat gets raw / sores and I need something to help it heal and keep the reflux at bay. This works perfect for me. I recently had to take some strong medicine and was ill for several days, which caused a nasty bout of GERD, reflux at night and awful sore throat / difficuty swallowing. Thankfully, I had a bottle on hand. Within a few days, I had it under control so I could stop the damage, and heal substantially using salt / baking soda rinses.Original:I've only been using this supplement for less than 2 weeks but so far, I have noticed a difference in my reflux and my esophagitis feels like it is healing. I recently had an uptick in LPR, it took me a while to figure out that it had come back. Unfortunately, it was bad enough to burn my throat and leave me with a sore throat. I have been chewing two tablets after dinner because if I get reflux, it's usually about 4 hours after dinner when I'm in bed. This supplement apparently lasts up to 4 hours, so it carries me through my "danger zone" time. The berry flavor is strong but it doesn't bother me.

Works for me, decent flavor
I've struggled with LPR for a couple years now, and when it flares up, I use this. I also use this if I've been eating something that triggers reflux for me (like spaghetti). The flavor is not bad (a little tart), but you have to absolutely be sure to CHEW IT THOROUGHLY for it to work. It will start creating a 'foam' in your mouth. That's the raft forming. It's not the most pleasant thing while you are chewing, but also not bad. Much better than throat burn! Swallow that down, usually right after a meal, and it will at least cut back on the reflux. I will tell you that I don't take it with a glass of water (as recommended). I find that seems to dilute it. If I take it after a meal, I've already had water with the food anyway.I've tried Gaviscon Advance (the stuff imported from the UK), and I think this works almost as well, while being cheaper per dose. It's also much more portable and discrete, which means I can take a couple tablets to work or on vacation.

It works!
This works really well for me but the taste is horrible! I think I'm slowly adapting to the taste but it is bad! Just chew fast and swallow & follow with a lot of water. It's bitter & chalky but foamy and gets stuck in your teeth but it's worth it.

You have been warned.
These are beyond disgusting!!! I made the mistake of thinking they would be like all the other chewables I've tried and use daily. NO. I popped them in my mouth and chewed...just once. That was enough to get the gaggable mess stuck in my teeth. I couldn't just spit it out. So, while gagging, I tried rinsing them down with water and trying to get the substance unstuck from up in my teeth crevices. Absolutely horrific experience and I came very close to puking. I think looking up at the ceiling and doing deep breathing is the only thing that saved me. These chewables are NASTY. The texture, the taste...the TEXTURE. I would avoid like the plague. I would keep these and try and swallow whole except the bottle specifically says not to do that. I'm hoping I can return these. They are too expensive to only use two.UPDATE: the website will not allow you to return these. Contact customer service via chat (you can have them call you, too) and the chat bot will process your refund. Which is good, because I had ordered two of these! I've never encountered a chewable as gross as these are. The description says they taste good. THEY. DO. NOT. You have been warned.

Gag Reflux
I have a severe issue with clearing my throat after I eat. This product was recommended to me by my ENT. I have to admit that it does work; it mostly stops my throat clearing; however, sometimes it isn't worth the gagging and almost throwing up it takes to get them down. You have to chew up two tablets in your mouth until your mouth is filled with foam and then attempt to swallow it. I gag to the point of being on the verge of throwing up every single time I take them. The flavor isn't bad, it is the consistency. I have tried taking just one, as it is not as bad to get down, but it doesn't solve my issue. I continue to take them, but only when I am desperate.

It works
This tastes good and works well. I tried making my own Gaviscon UK version from recipes found on the web, but it made me gag so bad, tasted disgusting. These tablets are so much easier and taste way better.I’m trying to quit PPIs after 2 years daily use. These are helping with the acid rebound. I’m also taking famotadine 20mg 4x daily. It’s so hard to quit PPIs, even my PCP says it’s bad to take long term, but my GI doesn’t care. This is my 4th time trying to quit, but I never used any alginate or alginic acid products before. I found Dr Jamie Koufman’s blog and bought her books. Explains so much about acid reflux.Recommended!! Thank you.

Good product for LPR symptoms
This is a great alternative to Gaviscon Advance for LPR symptoms, and is available more easily in the USA. It contains the same active ingredient (alginate) in a large enough amount to be effective, and it tastes SO MUCH better than Gaviscon Advance. It also has different sweeteners to make the taste palatable (sugar alcohols like xylitol instead of Aspartame), so might be a better fit for some people.
