While the packaging could've been better (filter fell out of box in loose bag package), it's the filter per the description. Works well on my VP 5.0 GXi

This oil filter works for the v8 volvo penta 5.0L gi engine. Wasnt sure if it would work cause the old oil filter was smaller, seats perfectly and no leaks. Was a little nervous so I checked a service quote I had received and saw the part numbers match up, so the filter is a 100% fit. The oil dip stick also has corresponding numbers. To do an oil change you have to pump the oil out through the dip stick housing, once oil is pumped out, then remove the filter and replace with this filter. Fill oil and check level. The 5.0L takes 5quarts and if you have the 5.7L it takes 6 quarts of oil. Use marine oil as well. Anyway, great product and have used on my engine ever since.

Received within 3 days of ordering (WOW). Filter was in great condition and fit perfectly. Would recommend ordering marine parts from Amazon. Very hard to find Volvo parts in my town. I have been using Mercury (nice to have factory parts on Volvo engine.
