American Oak Barrel with Steel Hoops- 5 Liter or 1.32 Gallons

One of the barrel stands had been broken in transit and the company immediately sent me a replacement without delay or hassle.Beautiful, aromatic oak wood barrel with a light char on the inside. I expect that my restaurant will get several delicious batches of aged cocktails out of these functional little barrels.

Followed process for prepping but never stopped leaking. Within a year not usable. Used for aging manhattan cocktails. Got a years worth of batches done but began to leak more and more over time.

Ok, it does the job, so far... It looks much prettier on the page than it does in my house. Two of the boards on the top have long black streaks running through the wood, the metal used to hold it together is cheap as well. The back ring is shoved (carelessly) into one of the boards splitting the outer finished portion about an inch wide. I followed the instructions to properly season the wood using warm water and soaking 24 hours, then two rinses. Filled with spirits, so far after two weeks, no leaking. It took almost one month to the day from ordering before I received it, not acceptable. I gave it 3 stars because it functions as advertised. Lost two stars, one for quality one for the "made in Mexico" stickers on the base and barrel, when I was led to believe "North American oak" meant made in North America. I expected a lot more for almost a hundred dollars.

Awesome, the bung hole was a little small for my needs but bored it out. I will be ordering another one soon. Just keep in mind if you are using it for anything but liquids holes are tiny, otherwise fabulous.

Nice barrel made out of hardwood and chard inside. The hoops are aluminum, not steel and are prone to coming off in not handled properly. Took several days of soaking to get the wood swelled enough to not leak.

The customer service from North American Barrel is amazing!I bought this as a gift, and it is simply amazing. My husband was also really pleased by it.When we purchase another barrel, we will definitely go here.
