Thundershirt for Cats, Large

Absolutely love this for my fur baby, she has major separation anxiety because I am usually at home, so when I leave she frets, chews her fur and get a strange odor.Ordered this after coming home to get in the worst state I’ve seen her and when it arrived the next day put it straight on her for, she was not happy at first but she got used to the feel of it quite fast, after a couple of hours there was a noticeable difference. The next time I went out for a couple of hours I put it on her and when I got home she was much better than usual, no odor and pottering round the house. I have not tried this for longer than a few hours yet but so far so good and I will carry on using it. She likes to be held tight when she is anxious which is why I tried this, we have tried everything else going, feliway, medication, you name it and this is by far the best thing we’ve tried!

We bought one thundershirt to try for both of our cats. We have two rescue cats who both suffer from anxiety. In particular one of our cats really suffers from any loud noise, the postman scares him and even answering the front door can be a problem. Our other cat suffers from anxiety sepertion and so after trying lots of different techniques, medications and lots of feliway we decide to buy one and see how things went. I must say that I'm absolutely amazed at the results! We have put the shirt on both of our cats twice now and I can't believe the difference. Neither of them attempted to remove the shirts and they became calm instantly. They did walk around strangely for a little while, almost as if they were a bit drunk but this soon resolved. I think it will make a difference to both of them and we will certainly be buying a 2nd!

Can’t get him to wear it

I bought this product for my cat who is fine at home but gets very anxious at vets or when having to travel in crate anywhere. I would have judged him as a small to medium cat (he was the runt of the litter) and weight 4.2kg. The shirt was fine lenghtways but way too small to go round, so I ended up having to send it back. I've looked at the large but that seems quite a bit bigger, so not sure if it will have the right effect. As soon as I tried it, he did promptly lie over on his side on the floor but we weren't able to do the ultimate test and try a trip to the vets. Well made product though and I would have liked to get one to fit.

As a Vet Nurse I've seen & been aware of the success of Thundershirt for a long time. But first time I used on my own animals. My sister purchased 1 for her terrier for fireworks & car journeys & success was amazing. I bought a cat shirt for my cat with over-grooming behaviour. Cat has often had "jumpers" on at Halloween & Xmas that last about 10seconds. This shirt, I gradually put on her with treats. She tolerates. It calms her down completely & she usually just falls asleep wearing. They still are cats so will act like their legs are affected, which they're not!! and she'll walk in a crouched position. But never cries/meows wearing it. And it def stops her grooming behaviour. As a vet nurse I'll continue to recommend.

I desperately bought these because I have two cats that fool around like a teenage punk rock concert each night making it impossible for me to sleep and ruining my life.. I was hoping that I could finally get some sleep by putting these thundershirts on the cats, but they simply take off the neck thing and they don't calm down at all!!!I have desperately bought all three sizes to try and find the correct size. The small size is super tiny and will probably only fit kittens, the medium and large one I can fit on each of my two cats, but it's no problem for them to get the neck thing off and they don't calm down!I've been patient and gradually tried to make them used to wearing them for short durations over a couple of days and I have wasted money on buying different sizes of thundershirts to find the correct sizings.. No luck, I must continue to daydream about getting a proper night's sleep.. or get rid of the cats

Very happy with this product. Easy to follow instructions. Cat is currently wearing it for about 2 mins to help him get used to it.

Didn't fit cat . I thought cat had put weight on since being measured ,but turns out the shirt is just smaller than expected .Had literally had the item in my possession for 5 minutes and wasn't able to return it for a refund ?No idea why but that's an expensive mistake or size error .I'd suggest getting a bigger size anyways though just incase your pet puts on weight .Update-Ordered a bigger size - it was too big 🙄But that made no difference as with either size on ,cat just fell over and lay there looking at me like I was pure evil .We tried it on the other cat and he did manage to walk around after a few times of falling on his side ,but he was still very off balance . The cat it's actually for has serious anxiety issues ,so this would of been great if it worked instead of medicating the poor guy every day ,but unfortunately it doesn't work . Unless just laying there unable to move is what I wanted .Other reviews say it's great ,so I guess it just depends on your cat . Beware though as you can't return it once purchased !

My baby girl has some fears and anxiety, but she’s way calmer in her little Thundershirt! At first she would plop over and freeze when I put it on her, but the inside of the box gives you tips on how to get your cat accustomed to wearing it, and it helped! When my cat plopped over, I would call to her and ask her to come see me, it took a few tries of her getting up off of her side and she was able to walk to me. Now she’s a pro at wearing it without falling over.

My cat has a lot of anxiety but this little vest definitely helps! You can tell an instant difference in his body language! It helps calm him from loud noises and he’s able to wear it for hours at a time.

My vet recommended this product to me for my 6 year old tabby with separation anxiety. He will meow constantly if I'm sleeping, in the bathroom, not home, etc.I will update this review after a couple days of use but the second I put it on him he started purring loudly. I sprayed the neck piece with some pheromones to ensure the first use had a positive association for him.I was slightly confused when I initially unboxed but the instructions were easy to follow and it wasn't hard to get on. The material is nice and soft.I ordered a large. Hes a 14.5 pounds with a generally large stature and it fits him well. (Second photo for size reference)In my personal opinion it was a little on the pricey side, but I had a amazon gift card and found one that was reduced and slightly used so I'm happy with the value. The box wasn't in presetine condition upon arrival but the product was like new.He did let out one meow when I was in the bathroom, but aside from that he is much quieter and seems generally content. It slightly limits his mobility but I feel like he'll get used to it.I'd reccomend giving it a shot, I'm not expecting it to be a miraculous be all end all but to know hes content and I'm not constantly frustrated with his meowing which is a big win!
