2 Beer Job
These are allowing me to convert some Sam Adams bottles for reuse. To say they are fiddly to assemble is an understatement, but I have a hack. First, get yourself a cold beer, you're going to need patience. Get a small Philips screwdriver, a small pair of cutters, and some slip joint pliers. Also, this is key, get yourself about (15) 4" zip ties. Now that you've got all your supplies together, have a sip of that cold beer. MMMmmm. Good. Now you've got the right attitude. Unbag and untangle all the swing top assemblies so you can work with them one at a time. As you may expect, anything that is "universal" will require some tweaking to get right. You need to check and bend the swing top bail ends so they (a) fit the bottle neck without ridiculous tension, and (b) bend the wires so the ends are square to the bottle neck when in place so they don't slip out of the stainless retainer band. See the photos for details. Once you have them dialed in, slip the stainless bands onto the bail wires' ends, so they are in the holes. Probably time for another sip of that beer you have sitting there. Now, at this point, if you're a person who really enjoys a challenge, you could slip that assembly onto the bottle neck, and try to hold it in place with one hand, while trying to put the retaining screw in the tab where it goes, slip the fancy handle ring on the screw, put it through the other tab's hole, and with your third hand try to put the nut on the screw. Then pick up the parts that fell on the floor - don't hit your head on the table getting back up. By now, you've figured that hack I mentioned might come in handy. Have another sip of that beer. Take a zip tie, and thread it to form a loop that will fit over the stainless retaining screw tabs when they're loose on the bottle. Pinch them together with one hand, and cinch that zip tie down to hold them tight. Have another sip of your beer and recognize that was a good idea... Now, you can put the screw through one side, slip on the fancy ring/handle, and push the screw through the other tab. Might need the screwdriver and some mild swearing, but it'll go. Then just put the nut on the exposed end, tighten it down, then use your cutters to snip off the zip tie. Repeat 12 or 13 more times, because you'll forget to put the fancy handle/ring on once or twice and have to take a step back and redo that. By now, it's time for that second beer, and the warm glow of accomplishment that accompanies saving yourself ten dollars by doing twenty dollars worth of labor. Don't feel bad, I did it too.

Cheap product for at home fermenting
This product was reasonably priced considering I can just put these on old bottles. The cost of new bottles were 2 to 3 times as much which made this choice a smarter one for people new to fermenting. But getting these buggers onto the bottles was not an easy feat. Take a look at the directions on the listing as well as the video. We were fighting with the tiny screw and washer only to find out we were putting them on upside down . After watching the video we figured it out but that was after hours of fighting with them. The price is worth the hassle. Just wish sellers included instructions in the product or at least a note that says "check the listing for directions ".

Does not seal well under pressure
Unfortunately they don't work as well as I wanted. I am brewing water kefir and kombucha, storing them in my pantry. I purchased 9 flip top lid bottles with the lids permanently attached. These are awesome. I wanted to add to my count by reusing some used beer bottles. These will absolutely not work with a twist off top like my Shiner bottles, but they did fit with some other bottles that have a tapered part at the top, see photos. But after a two week secondary fermentation, these bottles have little to no carbonation, and you can see a touch of leakage. The difference is, the rubber grommet is more like a washer, than the other lids, so carb is leaking out between the plastic and rubber, not the bottle and rubber. If I could get them slightly tighter, they may work.

Fits sams adams bottle and coke bottle
The product fits perfectly create a nice seal on both Coca-Cola and Sam’s Adams bottles, although the fit on the Coca-Cola bottle is a little loose meaning there’s a little movement in the metal ring that connects to the bottle. And Samuel Adams bottle it closes a little too tight. I don’t see how this was a frequently returned item. I wanted to save money on the cost of pop top bottles and these definitely do that.

Not fit for purpose
The item I got does not fit any of the bottles I have, in multiple sizes. The video makes it look easy to install these, but that metal neck band is VERY STIFF and needs pliers to squeeze it shut. Mine aren't circular, either, they have corners. The screw hole is barely big enough for the screw and you can't just push it through to the other hole, I had to screwdriver it through and yhen use pliers to get the band tight enough to get the screw to feed into the opposing hole. After a full 30 minutes of struggle to get one installed on just one bottle, I couldn't get the thing to close shut. I won't be able to use these at all.
