MOST IMPORTANT: gives you 240v through the "regular" home plug
This device is EXACTLY what I was looking for. With it I am able to tap into the dryer outlet for higher voltage power needs. This plug is a pass-through, meaning the 220-240 volts coming from that outlet PASSES STRAIGHT THROUGH to the standard NEMA 5-15 (or 5-20) plug.(The one on the end of everything in your home.)Pay attention... this will DAMAGE electrical appliances that are NOT 220v compatible, however for power tools, electric car/vehicle chargers, computer servers/power supplies that automatically switch between 110 and 220.... and any other device that can handle 220v, you will be fine. This is NOT for everyday appliances, UNLESS they are 220v compatible. Do not plug regular household items into this outlet. The caps are on purpose, because someone will say "this thing damaged my Samsung-Ipad-Playbox-thing-a-ma-jig! Junk!" No it did not. That's called user error.220v only folks.Have fun!

Perfect!
I used this for connecting my EV's portable charger to a 30 amp outlet that I had on the wall. The cable worked perfectly for connecting the plug of my 2019 Bolt EV (as the portable charger supports 240v).

Charges my EV at twice the speed now
My electric vehicle came with the standard 5-15 plug it charged at 120 V and around 14 A resulting in 1 kW heart rate. The charger itself is 120-240volt compatible. I used this adapter in my 30A dryer connection and am now able to charge at 3kW at home. Works exactly as advertised for appliances with a Norma 5-15 plug that accept 240v input

Brings 240 volts to my EV!
I have a gas dryer and while cleaning the vent pipes discovered the house was wired for a 240 volt electric dryer. Bought this little attachment to allow me to plug in a heavy duty 120 volt extension cord to which I attached the charger for my Fiat 500e. Cut my charging time in half! Used duct tape to firmly attach the power cord to my charger. Don’t want someone accidentally plugging a 120 volt device into it. Not sure if other chargers work this way, but the unit that comes with the Fiat for 120 volt charging works great if you supply 240 volts.

perfect for charging electric car into dryer outlet
My 2017 Chevy Bolt (60kWh battery) takes 20 hours to fully charge from dead when plugging into my dryer outlet (@120V would take 2 days). A game-changer/life-saver for electric car owners!! Forget about those stupid expensive home charging stations!!!

Works for intended purpose but be careful!
This product works for its intended purpose on my chevy volt with the 12A charger which can apparently take either 240 or 120v. But you need to make sure you understand exactly how your circuit works before you use it, it's very easy for someone to accidentally fry their devices or start a fire using this improperly.

Great for a 2018 Chevy Volt
I bought this to convert my factory 2018 Chevy Volt charger to a 240V that can plug into my dryer outlet. It works great and the car charges in like 4-5 hours. Saves a lot on buying a new level 2 charger!

Does what they say!
Got this to connect my Prius Prime to a 240 dryer outlet. It does what it says. It is supposed to charge from 0-100 in 2.5 hours and it seems to take a few minutes longer than that, but I am satisfied! Product is heavy duty and I am hoping to have it for a long time.
