Kizami Wasabi (Chopped Wasabi) - 3.5oz (Pack of 3)

The real deal pickled wasabi! Had been looking for a while before finding it, doesn't seem to be stocked in any of my usual Asian markets. This stuff is a real sinus opener, and has a much more nuanced flavor and pungentness than the green horseradish paste found in most sushi joints. Shipping is a bit expensive, so better buy a few to make it worth the price. The unopened packs keep very well in the freezer and don't take particularly long to thaw.

When I have sushi.... I always ask for a small bowl of fresh wasabi. Some do it. Others don't know what I"m talking about. Once you try fresh chopped wasabi.... not the paste stuff, you'll never go back. It's a unique head shot with a wonderful aftertaste. This is the only place I can find it. Rather expensive.... but worth it. Try it with smoked salmon and capers.

I’ve ordered this wasabi before on here previously and it was fantastic just like how they serve it at the restaurants. However, this time I purchased the 3-pack and I immediately noticed a different colored tint than the first time I bought it. It’s not as vibrant green, very dull green almost a light brown color. The taste is also different. It’s not nearly as spicy as the first one I ordered so I’m wondering if this was an old batch that they accidentally shipped out. Disappointing since it took a long time to get here and is also expensive.

This is the real deal. I happen to love chopped wasabi with sashimi, and even though it is pricey, it is SO worth it for real wasabi flavor. I was worried that frozen kizami wasabi would lose it's bite- and while this batch was a little less sinus clearing than fresh grated- it was absolutely delicious. This is going to be a permanent fixture in my kitchen!

Arrived at ambient temperature but we didn't get sick from eating it. Maybe they could offer customers the option of paying more money for faster shipping.

As another review said, I love the taste and haven't gotten sick yet. For a product with "Keep Frozen" written all over it, I expected more than the equivalent of three small ice cubes to be used to keep it, if not frozen, at least cool. It arrived not only completely thawed but hot. Straight into the freezer and, so far, all seems well. The flavor is very good, at least compared to the straight horseradish typically found in "wasabi." I just can't help wondering how much better it would be if it actually been shipped as it was supposed to have been.

Love Love Love this product. Taste just as wonderful as the fresh wasabi offered “when asked for”, at the sushi restaurants.
