Parker 97R Traditional Double Edge Safety Razor & 5 Parker Premium Razor Blades

The media could not be loaded. Merkur vs. Parker: In short, the Murkur USED to be the best. It was weighted beautifully and lasted a LONG time. Now, though, their safety razors have declined in quality. They are now made from cheaper metals and the feel is very much like a Chinese knock-off of the real thing (even though they ARE the real thing); it’s like buying a Coke and it tasting like “Cola Drink” at your local supermarket.The Parker, conversely, is what the Murkur WAS: beautifully weighted, excellent to use, very well made with some fine craftsmanship behind it. The only drawback is that the Parker is a three piece system (vs. the two piece Murkur) that takes about an extra 6 seconds to change the blade. Otherwise, it is, by far, the superior product.Finally, the Parker is one HALF the price. Yep. Half.Get the Parker (obviously).

I wanted a well made razor for everyday use and this Parker fills that role.Size, weight, quality are all perfect.It has a level of forgiveness that will give beginning safety razor users confidence in getting the job done.It does not seem aggressive at all, but it does give a nice shave.

I bought this to replace an EJ that had broken. Fit & finish are quality for this price point. Shaves slightly more aggressive than the EJ did, but not hard to adjust to. I consider it an upgrade for less money.

It was expensive,but I think it worth it.it is heavy ,and shaves gently,and hopefuly last for a long time.

This is a nice size. I have the 98 and like it (I have large hands) but this one nice and much lighter. Great quality as always with Parker. Great for travel.

This is a great razor. It is a little aggressive so I would not get it as my first double edge razor but if you have your technique down, this is a great razor.

Great short handle razor. Really efficient so be care going around corners until you have your technique down.

Providing sure grip in wet, soapy hands. Constructed of three durable, well-finished brass parts. One can reasonably expect its long service life, from simple care. This razor is enjoyable to use.Since Double Edge razors require the Shaver's edge (blade) preference. Any Shaver can choose this razor, anytime. Parker's quality will circumvent negatives. Often revealed in "starter" purchases. E.g. poor material/construction, unsatisfying to use, soon found inadequate, re-purchases, wasted money. In contrast to: Purchasing a Parker 97R. Continuing to be satisfied. With abundant blade choices, always available. To ensure the razor's immediately relevant. And, will always be. Without mishap, a Parker 97R is likely, Lifetime.If you're new to this type of razor. I suggest its purchased with a Blade Sampler. Many inexpensive Samplers are available. Reading reviews of blades within a Sampler, will inform your choice. To greatly expedite, getting your 'best' shave.

Compré por 24€ una maquinilla que había sido devuelta y en perfecto estado, valiendo la nueva 36€.Muy buena máquina, agresiva, de calidad, la mejor que he probado, apurado perfecto junto a unas cuchillas astra y jabón tabac. Le he puesto el mango de otra maquinilla, un poco más ancho y 15mm más largo.Muy satisfecho.

Alles gut, außer dass bei mir keine Rasierklingen dabei waren. Liegt gut in der Hand. Fürs Reisegepäck könnte er etwas leichter sein.

This thing is supposed to come with 5 blades but all I got was the safety razor itself.Horribly misleading.

Pour 23 euros tout compris, un rasoir de grande qualité. Belle finition. Equivalent du Merkur 34 (qui est vendu un peu trop cher selon moi ou du Muhle 89. Très court et très lourd, pour les amateurs du rasage à 3 doigts sur le manche. Finition impeccable. Avec un entretien régulier, il faudra voir à l'usage s'il résiste aussi bien que les production allemandes.
