Great Everyday Knife
Bought this knife to keep on my climbing kit. The loop on the butt of the knife allows me to attach a small nylon strap through to a carabiner making it readily accessible at all times.Pros:Blade length- Drop point - tanto knives look cool but their usability is limited, you need to be able to roll the knive some times and have control over the cut- 40% serrated - necessary for cutting small limbs or tough fabrics- Field ready edge - ships sharp and ready to go. I shaved hair off my arm with it out of the box.- Well-built - not too heavy or too light - feels well-made- Liner lock is sturdy - no play to the blade at all- Pocket clip sits at the very tip allowing 99% of the knife to be concealed in your pocket- Price - under 20 bucks this thing is a stealCons:- None yet, I'll edit in the future if there ever are any but as of now I can't think of anything not to like about this knife.

Excellent knife
This is a great knife. It may not be the absolute highest quality, but it's very good - certainly more than you'd expect to get for this price. It's pretty much the non-tanto version of Smith & Wesson CK5TBS Bullseye Extreme Ops 4.1" 40% Serrated Black Tanto Blade, one of the most popular on Amazon. While a tanto blade looks nice, anyone who uses a knife on a regular basis knows that they're much less useful than a drop point or similar blade. The weight is good, the blade is solid, there's no looseness or shakiness to the hinge, and the liner lock works well. My only complaint is that it could be a little easier to open - it's sometimes difficult to get it to snap all the way open with just your thumb. Then again, that's always been a problem for knifemakers - finding the balance between being easy to open and coming open every time you hit a bump. Also, the pocket clip is much better placed than many similar knives I've owned, allowing the entire knife to rest inside the pocket, with nothing hanging out but the clip itself. All in all, 5 stars.Edit 4/9/12: I managed to put this knife in the wrong bag on my last trip, and had to give it up at airport security. I'm ordering another one right now - I looked at the other options that are available now, and in this price range, none of them compare.

One of my favorites
I love this S & W knife. It has just the right amount of heft whilst being light enough for carrying when needed. The blade is sharp enough out of the box (although no blade is razor sharp) and it look great in all black. Opening and closing is easy. I have numerous S & W knives and for the money they can't really be beat - especially this one.

Not quite as advertised
I have two other S&W knives that are a slightly larger version of this knife. Both with a 4" blade one drop point and one tanto. The knives I have are 20+ years old and have a rubber inlay in the grip. I like the knives very much and when I saw this one I jumped at it and bought two. Although advertised with a rubber inlay in the grip these actually have a plastic inlay with dimpling. Although I would prefer the rubber grip inlay because of the feel I will keep these knives. S&W has changed knife manufacturers since I bought the last ones. We'll see if I still have these in 20 years.

A sharp, sturdy, useful blade.
I give this knife 4 and a half stars. The blade including the serrated part and the point are extremely sharp. I have a Lot of experience camping in woods, mostly in Massachusetts but also in California. This is practical for cutting rope or clearing a path through brush and thornbush. If I had to use it in self defense, the handle is well shaped to suit my grip and the blade is quite impressive and would likely have a deterrent effect on any assailant(s), assuming they didn't have a gun.I thought the name was a bit excessive, but this is a practical blade.

Sweet knife
For the price, you cant beet it, and when I got it, it was well built and seemed pretty sharp. I used it in iraq and it got my seal of approval. Great knife.

Best knife brand around!
Bought as a gift, my boyfriend was very pleased with it and uses it everyday. I've bought him several knives over the years and most of them always break except Smith & Wesson those always hold up till someone walks off with it or he looses it!
