4-1/2 stars, but rounding up because all's well the ends well!
I recently bought one of these for an upcoming road trip. I almost never buy guitars without first personally trying them as I'm so picky, but as these are not available in stores, I had to take a chance after watching various YouTube videos and reading online reviews. This company seems to have been smart by sending guitars to big YouTubers for video review - most all had very positive things to say which definitely swayed me towards the buy. However, some written online reviews seemed to be harsher, so I was definitely nervous before it arrived. After a week of playing, here's what I found. . .Two really important things for me with a guitar are intonation with itself (when all tuned up), and the ability to stay in tune after playing a while, especially when bending strings. Bottom line - both are excellent on this guitar. Some of the written reviews seemed to have problems with one or both of these areas, and I had my doubts looking at the somewhat severe angle of the strings between the bridge and the tuning posts (especially after string bends), but thankfully tuning held rock solid even after lots of big metal bends. Also, I did not have to adjust the truss rod or the action - all was fine there. Some people had problems holding and balancing the guitar. I know from past experience that "stick" guitars can feel very strange indeed and often uncomfortable or awkward. I found that sitting with this guitar in lap was not really an option. However, with the attached hook (included and already installed) and a short strap on a high setting, this guitar balanced perfectly and was actually fun to play. It takes a little getting used to, but it's not your gig guitar and after 5 minutes you'll be rocking out.Sound is pretty damned good. Is it the best pickup in the world? No, of course not, but for a travel guitar I will have no reason to change it.Here's where I had an issue however. Initially the frets were really scratchy when bending strings - to the point of being uncomfortable. Looking at them, instead of looking silvery, they almost looked like brass. I've heard that on low-end Chinese guitars cheap fret wire is used which oxidizes fast. So I stripped off the 10's included on this guitar, taped the fretboard with painters tape, and polished the frets with 3 successive grades of polishing paper. When removing the painters tape (which is purposefully delicate stuff), one of the circular fret markers stuck to the tape and came out. It wasn't cut evenly and had to be sanded before it again seated properly and could be glued in place. Show stopper - hell no. Annoying and avoidable - hell yes. After that, a quick pass over the rosewood and frets with some Gorgomyte and a re-string with 9's. With smooth mirror-like frets, it now played much, much better. (See before/after fret photos attached.) In retrospect I might have gotten a maple fingerboard, but I'm not sure if those fingerboards are finished and glassy, or unfinished and rough. One other minor thing - it's a bit hard to get the strings around the tuning posts being how they are situated, and the finish is so damned delicate that any touch with a pliers or a rotating string mars and scratches it. You'd think that since these are travel guitars made to be thrown around that this company would have made the finish somewhat robust, but that's definitely not the case - more like a baby's backside. I can imagine that this guitar will quickly look like some road worn warrior out of Zakk Wylde's arsenal, but hell, it's made for the road and action.Lastly, the value for the money seems really good with these, especially compared to the competition. So to conclude, as playability and tuning are more important to me than aesthetics and any required tech work (as I always do all that myself), this guitar worked out really well in my case. If you share these values, it should work well for you too. I hope this helps someone make a decision on this axe.

It’s pretty good for what it was purchased for: to travel
I am a pilot and travel a lot for work. I spend a lot of days in hotels so this guitar was purchased to fill the void on some of my layovers.Overall, I think this guitar is worth the purchase. It travels well, and with a small headphone amp sounds good. However, I’m not a fan of the roll off of the neck on the first fret. A standard guitar neck would start the roll off for the neck nut at about the nut, but on this guitar it starts it at about halfway up the first fret. Additionally, I don’t think the grounding on this is particularly well shielded. I’ve plugged it into my multieffects pedal and get a hum when my hand is off the neck. Once I change the strings I’ll plan to dig into it and check out what’s causing this. All in all, it’s a good travel guitar.

Simply blown away
I am simply blown away. I travel a lot for work & have been seeking a way to play guitar on the road for a couple years now. I’ve tried midi style guitars, mini style guitars, etc. always ended up returning. The other travel guitars have always been 300/400+ & for that much I’d rather put towards a “regular” guitar.. guess I’m cheap.Came across this while casually looking hoping for a prime deal on a traveler brand one or something. Checked them out on YouTube & the a lot of the reviews have seemed kinda biased I figured I’ve tried all these other options & for $200 why not.I’ve had it a little over week or so now.. holy sh** it really does play amazing. The neck feels like a worn in comfortable old guitar, the pickup screams & the tuning really is solid. I could see a setup making this play even better but right out of the box for me the intonation was pretty spot on & the more I play it the more stable the tunings getting, break on the strings & you’re solid. The included gig bag looks just like a tripod case & can just clip on a backpack. As someone who travels a lot trust me flight attendants could care less about something like this clipped on. It also slides right on top of a completely full overhead bin with full size carryons, this is literally the perfect travel guitar. Now on the unexpected other hand.. this is changing the way I play & practice guitar. I use a camera strap as it’s a little more comfortable & you can get it a little higher than some guitar straps. With the entire fretboard being right under my eyes it’s like playing while also watching someone else play. For recording, improvising & noodling around I’ve actually been finding playing it to be extremely inspiring & fun, it’s helping me explore areas of my fretboard I guess I’ve never really noticed or looked at the way I do with this travel guitar. I have great guitars, vintage custom tele, strats, etc & I’ve honestly been playing this nonstop over my others, could also be the novelty of it but I’ve yet to put it down. I can’t believe how good it sounds, I don’t get it. The tuning pegs don’t really get messed with whether sitting, standing, holding in weird angle, nothing, it’s solid. The neck is fast & just welcoming. No volume or tone but whatever it’s all or nothing with this. I think it’s one solid long piece of wood? It sustains for days, I don’t get it. The craftsmanship is nearly flawless, I bought the flat black model & it looks great, truly like a high quality well built instrument, which honestly it is. I almost want to get another in a different color to maybe mod a little & use a secondary to my current one at little gigs. Not sure if I will actually gig with it as I’m mostly a recording artists these days but I would absolutely play out, especially with the ways you can play that aren’t possible with a traditional guitar.Ok this is a novel.. it’s a really good travel guitar. I’ve tried at least 6 or 7 & I'm finally done.

Bad tuner placement
The tuners stick out of the back and constantly rub against you. You spend more time tuning than playing

Minimalist guitar
I play headless basses and guitars for the weight reduction and balance. This is innovative. Extremely light, but sturdy neck through construction. Standard strings instead of double ball, no set screws. Well balanced, great sustain. 25.5 inch scale is long enough for B standard tuning. Off the shelf metal machine. I do hope they make a minimalist tele version for us old guys and our mellow tones, maybe just tone controls. I love this design. I want to play this guitar all the time, not just traveling. This is the most comfortable for long periods of playing. This interacts well with my Pignose amp, only one knob for the whole rig. Update. There is room in the jack cavity for a resistor and capacitor tone circuit. I soldered in a permanent tone roll off. Now this is my favorite guitar!
