works!
i base my purchases on the reviews that i read so i thought id give a deserving product a good review. first of all i base purchases on not the good reviews but the bad ones. i realized after reading the reviews for the can crusher that most bad reviews where human error, not the product. You cant fix stupid. This can crusher is GREAT! gets the job done well and fast. you do get the eventual can jam, but you get that with a single can crusher too. and it sure beats crushing them by hand, or foot. the product is built well and super sturdy. simple yet efficent design. while i crush my daughter loads. we did 50lbs of cans in less than an hour, and like the other reviews say, "it was actually kinda fun". simple adjustments made my crusher work smoother. only had it for a while but no complaints so far. i actually look forward to building up the cans to use it. its too fast to actually get to enjoy it if you only have 20-30 cans. to sum it up in 2 words, "LOVE IT"

Sturdy, well built, easy to use, love it
This is all-metal, and crushes cans without any strain or bowing of any parts -- it feels solid. The handle has great leverage, and the feeder does work. It can have trouble with cans already crushed by the drinker, but they can be easily cleared,I had to bend the two metal rods with the bumps on them that hold the next-to-go-can, bend them away from the wall a bit so they had a tighter grip. After that feeding was perfect. Fill up the cute and just keep pulling the handle, the crushed cans drop right out the bottom. So glad I didn't waste money on some flimsy or plastic unit. And the stack feed is worth its weight in gold.

Paint job kind of sucks.
Overall, the crusher is of good quality and is effective at doing it's job of crushing cans. However, you need to add some kind of lubrication to the crush plate so it slides easily and the paint chips off way too easy. Those are the only 2 bad things about this can crusher. Well, that and the basket only holds up to 6 12oz cans. Bigger cans will need to be crushed by hand. Or rather, by foot. However, for some reason, at least with my can crusher, the cans waiting to drop down into the area where they get crushed keep falling down behind the unpainted plate that moves to do the crushing. My parents have the same kind of crusher they got after my grandmother died and the cans in theirs don't do that. I'll have to figure something to fix it....

So Far, So Good
This is the third can crusher I've bought. The other two offered on Amazon are also sold at Harbor Freight. The first, a single crusher broke with metal fatigue after a year. Otherwise it was okay. The second also sold on Amazon never worked right, it was a multiple can crusher that broke immediately. The ram was plastic and it jammed constantly. This one appears very sturdy a works extremely well. If it is durable, which it appears to be, it will keep the five star rating I gave it. Instruction recommend oiling which is indicative that it is intended to last.

all metal
just started using (100 cans) and is working well - it is all metal, so is sturdy; easier to crush cans than the single can crusher from harbor freight, but requires a much longre stroke pulling down (that is expected; that is how leverage works). I followed other reviews for guidance - if you are experiencing can flipping, go slower; adjust bottom support wires if the crushing block hits the next can in line; must stack cans in the feed shoot; they don't stack well if dropped from the top. a slight pinch of the cans will make them crush easier, but a big pinch will deform them too much and may cause staking problems. Yes paint wears off quickly in certain spots on the moving parts - but I bought this for it's function, not it's looks!

Works well when it works.
Good product. Not Great. Solid Metal, but after use it tends to come apart. Had to put it back together once. However, when the paint starts to wear off, and it will, lube it with WD40. Over all good product.

Best aluminum can crusher ever
My family crushes a lot of aluminum cans for recycle. It took me over 20 years to wear out my first crusher like this. Easy to load and operate. Good value!

Does The Job
Excellent crusher for standard 12 fl.oz. aluminum cans. I bought this to replace one I bought ten years ago or so that wore out after years of heavy use. It will also crush smaller cans, but the magazine feed isn't set up for that, so you have to feed them one at a time. This is an excellent tool, and I highly recommend it.
