Old Timer 94OTW Gunstock Trapper 2-Blade Folding Pocket Knife with Desert Ironwood Handle

Love it. Mixes up the edc rotation so it doesn’t get boring. Blade are nice and centered great fit and finish and snap. Sharp where it should be and smooth where it should be. Well worth several times the price. It’s not a case but it’s nowhere near the case prices. But the quality it’s almost like a case. It’s a good cool old school slip joint it’s nostalgic and I think it’s awesome

A good basic trapper style knife, in about an average size, the spey and clip-point blades are about 3 1/8" or so long, reasonably thick at the spine, with a flat primary grind on the blade, before finishing in a fairly steep almost 30 deg final edge grind. The steel is 7CR17MoV or thereabouts, and is actually pretty good, favorably hard, while still superbly corrosion resistant. Honestly it is pretty much equivalent in edge performance to the mid carbon cutlery steels our great and great-great grandfathers used. Easy to sharpen back up on regular stones, meant for use. Otherwise, on my example, fit and finish is good/basic, blades are tight with no play, good snap, and they don't hit the center pin ridge of the spring. Also mine came with an 'Old timer' shield and not the schrade 'bomb' shield, as in the product picture. I have reground the edges on mine, lowering the angle to a butcher-knife like 11 degrees, and lapped them up to a shaving keeness. Since then I have been working the knife hard with cooking, game cleaning and utility tasks. The steel acts like I'd expect. Yes the edge will roll a bit if you try to slice a dinner plate, but easily straightens back out with a steel or fine stone. The knife will accomplish everything any historical trapper knife would do, for several seasons. To make sure for this review, I just went and cut about 6 yards of corrugated cardboard, cross-grain, and the edge was still arm hair shaving sharp- although benefited from 4 passes on .5 micron film afterwards. Not fancy, not elegant, but honest.

Outstanding little knife and the perfect. Exactly what I was looking for. Great for small tasks around the house and perfect for storing in a drawer or bedside table.

Excellent quality knife, but a little too big/heavy for everyday carry for me. If I were more of an outdoors-man, I would have kept it.

Have many knives but love this for an everyday carry knife. The price is right if I lose or damage it I won't cry. Very Sharpe out of the box!!!

Perfect old timer pocket knife made in China but that doesn't bother me, extremely sharp, when pulling out the blade there's a little spring that will make it wanna go back down

Bought it for my collection. It's razor sharp and the quality is great. Perfect EDC knife.

Its a handy little trapper. It leaves some things to be desired in terms of construction. Mine has a few gaps. Its also smaller then a Case full size trapper.

Heute habe ich das Messer erhalten und muss es leider zurücksenden. Beide Klingen sind verbogen und reiben beim Schließen an den Liners. Eine leicht verbogene Spey-Klinge kann ich noch akzeptieren, aber die Clip-Point-Klinge ist an der Spitze so stark nach links verbogen, dass man beim Schließen deutlich hören kann, wie die Klinge an den Liners reibt. Beim Öffnen des Messers ist deutlich zu sehen, dass die Spitze der Klinge nach links abweicht. Noch besser sieht man das, wenn man beide Klingen gleichzeitig öffnet. Ich habe von der Firma Schrade wirklich eine bessere Qualität erwartet. Am Montag schicke ich das Messer an den Verkäufer zurück und bitte um einen Umtausch gegen ein anderes Exemplar. Edit: Die Rückgabe des Produkts verlief reibungslos. Nach einem Tag war das Geld auf meinem Konto. Ich werde auf jeden Fall ein weiteres Messer bei Mila Sports kaufen, denn sie sind zuverlässig. Fünf Sterne für den Verkäufer.

Tenia una gran expectativa de esta navaja, pero la manufactura deja mucho que desear, una de las cuchillas roza directamente el borde, con el tiempo se van a gastar. Es un tema de control de calidad. Por otro lado las uniones no se ven bien hechas, es el mismo tema de calidad. Ambas situaciones se ven en la foto anexa. Va de regredo. Actualización, volvi a pedir otra, salio mejor.

Bonita pero los resortes esta disparejos. Mal control de calidad, típico de las old timer chinas, es de suerte que te llegue una bien hecha sin detalles. Sin embargo esta funciona bien y esta bonita.
