All you need.
Take it from a pennywhistle player - the Feadog is a fine pennywhistle. (Feadog is Irish Gaelic for "pennywhistle").The one I purchased was well-made and properly finished (i.e. no left-over metal bits or plastic bits, and a uniform coating of paint). It doesn't demand a lot of air, it was in-tune and reasonably smooth from the bottom notes to the top ones, and it did not get too shriek-y at the top of the second octave.[Lecture mode: ALL pennywhistles in "D" get shriek-y at the top of the second octave, to some degree. They have to -- it's physics and acoustics and fluid dynamics, don't you know -- but some whistles are much better than others. And this one is good in that regard.]In other words, I like it and I use it! It is a bit too quiet for raucous sessions, but is just right for playing alone, for small acoustic sessions, or for playing into a PA microphone.Yes, I own some very expensive whistles, and appreciate the added value. But I bought this one for use in my pennywhistle class to show my students that you don't need to spend more than $10-12 for a good whistle. And you don't.Note to parents: Generally, kids need to be older than 8 to be able to reach the holes. If your kids are younger or have small hands, buy them a "G" whistle or an "F" whistle (unless they HAVE to play along with musicians who are in "D").Small cavil - you can't re-use the plastic box it comes in to store the whistle. Me? I use a round Postal Service mailing tube that I decorated with Irish stickers.

Better than the Walton's
I owned the brass Walton's whistle in D (the one with the green mouthpiece) and dreaded going into the high range. My wife wouldn't let me practice in the house. Then, I saw people recommending this whistle, so I took the chance and bought it.The low range is similar, but the high range is much sweeter and crisper, where the Walton's was shrieky and unpleasant. The loudness is very balanced across the range, although the B (top hole covered), while in tune, is piercing in the high octave. Few tunes get that high, and most are there very briefly, so it isn't the end of the world, and I've noticed that this is a fairly common characteristic in whistles, though I have found some that do not do this, just not in a high D.Maybe there are some bad whistles floating around out there, but this isn't a bad bet, in my opinion.

Great Gift
Great gift for my granddaughter. She loves music but I didn't want to get her an instrament that her parents would get irritated at listening to while she learned how to play it. This is one she can play from the very first time and continue for many years to come. Not cheep tin, sturdy.

Sounds Good
I was excited when I got this whistle cos of the good reviews it had. It didn't disappoint. It's louder than my Sweetone but with not much breath requirement (except on higher notes). It also sounds crisp and doesnt squeak much. It cane in a plastic box with a short fingering leaflet.

Excellence
It arrived quickly, a few days before it's 7 business day delivery. The sound quality is fantastic as well. I've been playing it non stop since I received it and it's just wonderful. I used to have a more expensive one and let me tell you, this rivals it in sound.

Penny Whistle is easy!
I ordered this Penny Whistle. It arrived on schedule and sounds wonderful. It's my first and only penny whistle. I learned an entire song my first day owning it. It's fun and easy. I highly recommend it.
