10 stars
If I could give this Fox 40 whistle a 10 out of 5, I would—it's the best whistle in the business. As a PE teacher and coach, I rely on its loud, efficient sound, and the bright orange color makes it easy to spot. I’ll never use anything else!

Loud and clear
Bought for backpacking. Very light, hard to lose with this color. Did I say loud!

but the Sonik blast seems to be made better, however they are a few dollars more
These are ok, but the Sonik blast seems to be made better, however they are a few dollars more. I have 2 of those and one of these. Budget - buy this one. Money no object - go with the Sonia blast in my opinion.

Noisy as hell
These whistles are the best! If I carried a rape whistle I'd want the Fox 40. They are durable and don't have that annoying cork ball rattling around inside. They function anywhere wet or dry. I strongly recommend the Fox 40.

The fox 40 is the best for reffing soccer
The fox 40 is the best for reffing soccer. Sharp. Crisp and wind resistant. Love reffing with this....PLUS....if you have a silver whistle, attach an orange fox 40 to it and when you drop it in the field....you can find your whistle easy! (A tip from a senior ref)

Fantastic whistle
This little thing is incredibly loud. At half-blow it does the trick inside an elementary school gym. A full-blow absolutely stop the kids in their tracks. But don't do that with anyone too close, it may hurt their ears.

works just fine
We use it for boating, instead of a horn. (Not so sure other boaters would know what we mean when we blow the whistle, once or twice to indicate direction..)

Finally!
I have long enjoyed the reliability of the Fox 40 Classic and Mini. Unfortunately, while coaching I have been blowing my ears out recently. The Pearl solves that problem with a much lower pitched sound and is a different sound than the whistles of nearby coaches. Thank you!
