Chef Craft Classic Plastic Dough Scraper, 4 inches in height 5.5 inches in length, White

I've used professional metal scrapers for years, and I can confidently say that this works just as well, and for a lot less money. The flexibility makes it great for working with dough, and also for cleaning off my countertop without scratching it up like a metal scraper would. There's no reason to spend a penny more for a dough scraper, believe me. This is all you need.

I have made a lot of bread in the past. I watched a video where someone used this tool and was impressed. I use it to stir, scoop under the dough to incorporate the flour, and divide and cut the dough. My fingers don’t get as messy, and if the dough sticks to the kneading surface, just run this little tool under the dough. I have used it with wetter doughs, corn tortilla dough, and every kind of dough imaginable. Truly the worst part of making bread for me was the sticky finger (if I didn’t want to add more flour to my dough to get the sticky off my fingers), rinsing the gunk off my hands (getting dough all over the faucet handles), then cleaning the chunks out of the sink strainer. It is bendable, and it stores under my hot pads with ease. Where has this baby been all my life?

Please note that I did not use the scraper for its intended use. I recently got a non-stick cook-top, and you are supposed to use silicon spatulas with it. I used to use a metal scraper (wooden handle attached to a 4 by 6 or so metal strip) as a "backstop" for my spatulas with my old cook-top, so I went looking for something equivalent in silicon for my new cook-top. Alas, it appears that no one makes such a thing. I thought that the Chef Craft scraper would do the trick, but it doesn’t. Because it doesn’t have a handle like my old wood/steel scraper it gets slippery, and moreover, it melts/burns slightly where it touches the cook-top.I’ve given if 4 stars because I have no doubt that it would do conventional scraping just fine.

I wanted a plastic scraper that wouldn’t ruin my marble slab or plastic cutting boards that I use for yeast doughs. (Most scrapers are metal). This scraper isn’t as stiff as I was hoping for, but it is called a “flexible” scraper, so i can’t really knock points off for that. For cutting the yeast doughs into parts, this scraper isn’t quite stiff or sharp enough as metal would be. It requires a little pressure. But it’s ok. It’s doing the job.

Nice size

Usually I see many scrapers that are too thick. They are not good enough to really pick all stuck in the bowl walls. They may not be the best to cut the though but for that I use a knife. After several uses they still hold pretty good (not like new but acceptable). And its price is very good. I recommend

These are great. At this price, I bought 5 just to have them around. They are strong enough to clean sticky flour off of all surfaces, yet flexible enough to clean the insides of the bowl on my kitchenmaid mixer. Great for cutting dough to weigh into dough balls, etc.

I started baking bread at home and needed a dough scraper to help with the task. This gadget helped me handle the very soft and sticky dough from the bowl and on the counter. I'm happy with this purchase!
