Great Value
This is an extra long baby gate. I have a 60lb pit mix that I want to keep confined in the kitchen when I'm at work. I looked around to find another gate this long without luck - I was skeptical of this gate due to the low price. This gate works perfect for me. My dog respects the gate even though she could easily jump over it or run right through it.Pros: 1) super long, 2) affordable, 3) easy to install, 4) low enough to step over but tall enough to create a barrier (i'm 5' 2") 5) neutral color. Cons: 1) not very sturdy, 2) hassle to lock and unlock the gate, 3) wood looks unfinishedOverall, I'm very happy with this well priced, extra-long gate.

The best big gate out there, at a fabulous price
i searched high and low for a wide gate to span a 74.5 inch doorway that didn't cost $100. I had 2 doorways that width and that was just way too much to spend. Some of the reviews mention that it's not sturdy. I couldn't disagree more. My daughter likes to climb on them and stick her legs through, and shake the gate like she's in baby jail, and this gate hasn't even thought about being flimsy. It may SEEM flimsy because the middle is fixed and the both sides can extend out, which is how it can get so wide, so when you shake it the part that's doubled from not being all the way extended kinda wobbles against each other, but that is just the nature of this gate. There are metal clips holding the doubled parts together so it can only wibble that distance, a couple mm. So it's not flimsy at all, but can be perceived as flimsy if you're not paying attention. It was easy to install, you do need a drill though. And I love that both sides are able to be opened. I can also step over it with relative ease at 5'4" so you don't have to open it every time. I am so happy with these gates.

Good gate for wide opening
This gate is great for large spaces. We have a toddler and two dogs and this works perfectly for us. The gate expands across a large space to keep the dogs off the couch and out of the room. However, the gate can pretty much 360 degrees from where it is attached. When not in use it is super easy to consolidate it to smaller length and put it up against the wall so it is not in the way.The gate comes with all the hardware you need to install it and installation was overall pretty easy. You of course need to drill holes and measure where the fisheye hooks have to be placed to accommodate the hook on the bottom and the latch on the top. The only drawback is you do have to drill holes into the wall, I know it's a necessary evil for most child gates I still just hate to damage the wall.As far as using the actual gate, there is a hook on the bottom that goes into the lower fisheye hook and latch on the top that secures the top. It is pretty secure, our toddler has not figured out / or is strong enough to push down on the latch and open the gate. On the flip side if we want to leave it so she can open it if she pleases we can just put the hook on the lower section and she is able to slightly lift the gate enough to open the gate (however the dogs can't get in with just the lower hook attached).Overall a good purchase, not too expensive, not too hard on the eyes, and overall very effective. I also was not able to find a lot of options that extended to the distance needed so I am very happy with it turning it out as well as it did.

Great for detering pets, but probably not kids.
I purchased this gate to block off the stairs to my sunken dining room. I had a difficult time finding a reasonably priced gate for the large entry way (about 96 inches). I wasn't sure this gate would work after reading some of the reviews, but I'm glad I took the chance because it works perfectly for me. However, I can see how it may not work for everyone. I simply needed a barrier to deter my 10 lb Dachshund from going down the stairs. I was concerned that the slats might be too wide as another reviewer had stated, but they are not. Well, not for the dog anyway. I do have a small cat who was able to get her head through, but she figured out that she couldn't get all the way through and she hasn't tried that again. The gate is easy to install. The box was open when it arrived, but no missing parts. You can open the gate from either side by releasing the latch from the eye hook and either swinging the gate in or out or by simply sliding it. Honestly, though, the latch is a pain in the ass. The lever is hard to push open and then you have to lift the hinge from the top and bottom eye hook, then realign then back in place to close it again. So, I just keep it unlocked and prop the hinges against the eye hooks. This works perfectly for me since my pets don't touch the gate. For a child however, I think this gate would be too flimsy.
