⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great for Styling and Soothing the Scalp -- A Win-Win!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great for Styling and Soothing the Scalp -- A Win-Win!I bought this because I like using something to style my hair, but I’ve struggled with a red, flaky scalp for a while. My wife recommended switching to something nontoxic, and I’m so glad I found this. It styles my hair really well without feeling heavy, and it’s actually helped calm down my scalp irritation. The scent is nice and subtle, and my wife even uses it to smooth her hair out too. We’re both happy with it and will definitely be ordering again!

Lemon-Scented Goodness
Smells lightly of lemon and holds all day. Not my favorite scent, but a great, clean-smelling hair product. Four (4) stars.

Good medium sheen and hold
I think this is a pretty good pomade, I would definitely recommend. Here are the highlights:- It feels very nice in the hair, doesn't feel greasy at all, and I find, at least for me, it holds my slicked comb-over style for the whole day without any issues.- Washes right out with some water and shampoo which I appreciate. If you wanted it to build up a little, you can tell some of it does stay in your hair when just washing with water.- The scent I wouldn't say is bad, but personally is not my favorite. I wouldn't want my hair to smell like it all day. It has a hint of citrus, but otherwise is not that strong. You smell it for maybe an hour or so after applying, and then it goes away.- The price of it is a little high, but it also is a handmade product from a small business that has a pretty clean ingredient list. Considering the quality of the product, I'd be willing to pay it again. It'll depend on how long a jar will last.- Packaging was acceptable. It was twice bubble wrapped all around and placed in a cardboard box. Being this is a glass jar, I appreciate that they didn't try shipping in an Amazon bubble envelope or other less protective packaging configurations.- When I opened my jar, it was still fresh and easily pliable, something that does not always happened when ordering any type of perishable product online. I am local to the area where it was shipped so I'd imagine if you were getting this from farther away your results may vary.

A must-have in your hairstyling arsenal
This product is exactly as advertised. Mostly vegan, no harsh chemicals, “mindfully made.” The packaging is superb: glass jar, upscale label. The name is a movie reference, as are all Shear Revival’s products.Very nice consistency out of the jar — has the consistency of grease, but creamier — stiffer than, say, hand cream. Easy to scoop out, feels good on the hands with just enough “waxiness” to give it the required “heft.” The smell is citrus, maybe lemony? and herbal, like a forest. It’s quite nice! Not overpowering, but definitely there. It doesn’t linger too long in the hair, that I’ve noticed. It’s easy to work into the hair without pulling — again, the waxiness letting you know that there’s some body to the product. The shine is a medium shine, but more of a healthy, natural sheen, rather than a greased-up look (thanks to the castor oil). It leaves the hair soft, manageable, and easy to style. Holding power seems as good as any product I’ve tried. If I had to compare it to other products, it compares to the consistency of Aveda pomade, but the scent is more on the order of American Crew pomade. But the result is less shiny — really more matte than either of those. This pomade has more waxiness (thanks to the beeswax) than either, and it feels more controllable in the application. My hair and scalp feel nice with this product — no heaviness, and the aloe helps the scalp feel good, too. This product is full of all kinds of things that are good for hair and skin. I’m fairly skin-sensitive, and this product fits the bill for me.You’ll need shampoo to wash it out of the hair, but it does wash out easily.Costs a bit more, but that cost is worth the performance of the product and the honesty of its ingredients. This one’s a keeper for me!

Eh...I really wanted to like it
Ok, so after many reviews and recommendations, I decided to give this a go. I am coming from the water-based camp, but approached this unorthodox-water based with an open mind. After a few weeks here are my thoughts. It's very well made. However, this UWB pomade just doesn't stand up to a long day (and 9 times out of 10, I need it to). Going out in the evenings? It'll be great! But after 5-6 hours of a 12-14 hour day, it just doesn't cut it for me.What I like about it:- Super creamy texture works effortlessly into your hair- VOLUME for days. My hair is pretty fine and this gives me volume like none other. The volume will last for a few hours.- Easily reworked throughout the day (which is also a bit of a negative for me).- The scent isn't something I would normally choose, but is pleasant...especially with Fall approaching. What I don't like:- The hold is...at best...medium (and that is being generous). I can't fathom how people consider this firm?- It has a little sheen which is fine, but later in the day my hair looks pretty greasy and desperate for a wash.- Remember how I said it's easily reworked? Well it also easily collapses. When using this I won't go anywhere without a comb.- You need a dedicated shampoo to wash this out. Water won't cut it. A 2-in-1 won't either.Bottom Line:I have tried every trick in the book to get this to yield something resembling a firm hold. It does feel really great in the hair and works in easily. Re-styles fairly easily, but once it loses its volume its tough to reactivate. More product and water don't seem to help much. I will say, I have been using Northern Lights as well and that one is much more to my liking. It has a better hold, seems to last longer, and adds no shine. This will probably be my last jar of Crystal Lake.
