Jaybird Hex N More Ruler

I used this template to fussy cut hexies for a quilt pattern - so much better than the paper template provided with the pattern. Easy to use and more accurate. Well worth the money.

I am using this for a specialized quilt I am making the suggests obtaining the ruler.

This is one of the best quilting rulers I own, if you don't have it already buy it! It's easy to use if you read the directions, or there's quick tutorials on YouTube. It's seriously a lifesaver for hexagons and half hexagons! I haven't used the jewel shape yet, but I'm intrigued to find a quilt or something with that shape.

I used this to cut pieces for a table runner. I have never sewn anything like this before and was very impressed on how easy it was to use this to cut the pieces to the correct size. I used it to cut the rectangular type pieces only. So glad that I bought it.

I just finished using this to cut all the triangles for my twin sized quilt, and it only took me a little over an hour. The secret is to cut strips of fabric the height of the triangle you want and then use the guide to do the rest. The triangles come out with a notch on the top, so that when you are ready to sew you can line up the triangles the right way as the sides are not all the same length. You would pair a notch at opposite ends along the seam you are sewing for them to come out correctly.I cannot wait to try this to make hexagons next!

I bought the Jaybird Delight pattern and decided I should purchase the Hex N More ruler because I am so clumsy when it comes to my cutting. I am happy I did! This can be used for a lot of fun patterns. My only complaint is that the ruler is SUPER slippery! As I previously mentioned, I am a clumsy cutter so this is a huge problem for me. I had to go to my local quilt shop and purchase non-slip stickers to put on the ruler which made it 100x better for me.

This ruler makes many patterns so much easier. Just a flip of the ruler and pieces are cut with complete accuracy. The only thing that I would like is more size possibilities. A 3 1/2 inch measure would be so helpful. The 2 1/2 is so small and the 4 1/2 is a little large for what I need. Other than that, it's great.
