Anchor Hocking Café Glass Coffee Mugs, 16 oz, Set of 6

Hot chocolate, coffee or tea or whatever you prefer to drink. Glass is the best choice for hot drinks, no change in the taste like with plastic. Keeps your drinks hot. The quality is not as good as the older ones, but still good. Only problem is there’s still a mold seam down the side but only cosmetic.

I bought 6 of these in the fall of 2021. I'm looking at another hundred to donate to a facility I volunteer for because I like them so much and their current mugs are unsatisfactory.The mugs are durable. I haven't had a single one chip or crack over three years of ordinary daily use. I use them for tea so they get a thermal shock of 200 degree water repeatedly throughout the day. No problems.They are dishwasher safe. I often hand-wash, but about 75% of the time they are wash in a dishwasher and they have survived just fine over three years.The capacity is nice. I brew my tea from loose leaves and I load my tea strainer to make more than one standard tea cup. I also don't want to mess around making two cups of tea when I can make one big one. This is perfect for me.I like the style. The flare base is stable and attractive. The handle is nice when the tea is hot. I like the heft and hand-feel of the mug, especially on a cold day.Obviously, I would buy these again. They are my "go to" mug and I feel put out if I don't have one clean in the morning. Like my cast iron pan, I cannot imagine breakfast without these mugs, as they are imprinted on me at this point. I pack one for long trips, for what it's worth. I think that says something about the mug, or perhaps me, not sure. Both?Look, it's a mug. It won't change your life, but it's a pretty nice mug.

many complaints by others, but I did not have any problems with mugs, use in microwave all the time, yes there is a seam, but I can ignore that for a cup that the handle does not get hot in microwave.

I really should have read the other reviews prior to purchasing this set of 6. Anchor Hocking "used to be" a quality based glassware organization however, based on these mugs which I received today, I have my serious doubts. There are inherent cracks on EVERY mug, running top to bottom. Additionally where the crack reaches the top of the glassware there is a distinct CHIP where, otherwise, one might drink their coffee. It is truly awful. I'd been an Anchor Hocking consumer for years but, like everything else these days and, with their recent company acquisition, apparently quality is no longer of value to them. I seriously doubt that these are actually manufactured in the US any longer. They are NO GOOD and I am returning them to Amazon. Be careful!!

I purchased this set "as is" because I have a few mugs from 25 yrs ago and wanted a complete set again. These were in perfect condition and arrived on time.

The glasses were OK. They were inconsistent in there build quality.

If you are looking for great coffee mugs that are lead safe, these are great! Not only do they hold a fair amount of coffee but they look good doing it. The flared out bottom makes them non tip which I hadn't found in other glass mugs. Great for hosting as it is so easy to see the level of coffee inside and to be able to tell when to refill your guests drinks. I highly recommend them. Microwave and dishwasher safe- much more sturdy then they look.

I don’t really leave reviews on products. Something has to be outstanding or have something majorly flawed for me to take the time to leave one. Recently, we replaced all our older ceramic made in China mugs for a large set of these Anchor Hocking glass mugs. Our older mugs had been in and out of the dishwasher over the years and I wasn’t sure if the glaze was thinning or cracked inside and who knows what the Chinese manufacturers have in their ceramics underneath leeching into our hot drinks. As someone who hates purchasing new things, I decided to look for glass mugs, made in the USA or Europe, so hopefully we wouldn’t have to repurchase new mugs for another decade or more. We also like to support American made products and industry whenever we can. We already had a couple of these glass pedestal style mugs that had been given to us, so we knew we liked them just fine and they perform and wash up well over many years. So I ordered a set of the ones listed here and we tossed the ceramic mugs. Every one of them arrived intact and not irregularly shaped.My ONLY problem with these, and it is significant, is that there is a pretty sharp ridge that runs the inside and outside of every handle of every mug. None of them have cut us yet, but it is far from comfortable. Functionally they work very well and check every other box. We are not returning them because I don’t think it was a defect, I think Anchor Hocking is just making these SUPER cheaply and with as little care as they can get away with. Super bummed. I’m hoping that over the years these ridges may soften with washing and use. I may at some point donate them and spend more on a set that is made with more care.
