Kept hands warm
Worked great! It gets cold here in Michigan. And these make bike riding in less than desirable conditions more tolerable. Husband wears XL gloves and these fit well

Amazing invention
I’m so glad I found these!!!! I commute to work all year and got fed up with triple-gloving in the winter, losing all dexterity, and my hands would still get cold. I broke some fingers last year, and now they get so painful in cold weather. But with these bar mitts, I’ve found I can wear a thin pair of cheap knit gloves and my fingertips only get slightly cold but not uncomfortably so. I’ve worn them in weather that was 20s-40s so far. You could wear a slightly thicker glove and be toasty warm. If you stick your arm out to signal a lot (I do), it takes just a few times to get used to sliding your hand back in the mitts on a corner, versus putting it straight back on the bar. But it’s not hard to learn if you don’t panic and are fairly comfortable on your bike. I am so happy I bought these. I am an average sized female and size M in just about all things, and size M in these was perfect. They fit just fine over my Trek Domane handlebars and shifting/braking is not an issue because they’re flexible so they just flex with the movement of your shifters. They have reflective writing on the outside which helps with visibility at night, because they do block the side view of my front light since they’re so big. I took them off on a snowy day while my bike sat outside, so they wouldn’t be wet on the trip home. But they are so easy to install and remove, it only took a couple seconds. My husband said they look goofy and was a naysayer at first, but now that I’ve stopped complaining about my cold hands, he’s also a fan.

Warm Hands in Cold Weather
I LOVE my Bar Mitts so much that I bought a second pair for my gravel bike. Bar Mitts are much more effective in keeping my hands warm in cold weather than even insulated gloves. They work so well that I rarely need to wear gloves even in the midst of winter. Thank you, Bar Mitts!

I will never part with my Bar Mitts
Last winter I endured frigidly cold bike rides in 20 degree temps and would often have to cut my rides short due to the intensity of the pain in my fingers which would leave them feeling like they were on fire. Wearing two pairs of gloves still didn't solve the problem. Last month I came across this product when I was searching for gear for cold weather biking, and I thought I'd give the mitts a try as I wanted to continue riding throughout the winter. Suffice it to say, after trying Bar Mitts, I will never again leave home without them when I'm riding in freezing weather. Today I set off on a 34-mile ride with my Bar Mitts attached to my bike for the first time. When I left my house, the temperature was 25 degrees, and during the course of my ride, it eventually got to about 34 degrees. At the start of my ride, I was wearing a pair of cycling gloves rated for temps in the upper 30s-40s. I inserted my hands into the Bar Mitts and waited to see if they would really work. The first few miles of my ride my fingertips felt a little cold, but nothing like they used to feel without the Bar Mitts. Before I reached my fifth mile, my hands were actually toasty warm, and they stayed that way for the remainder of my ride!! This product is a Godsend, and I can't recommend it highly enough for cyclists who don't want to give up riding during the winter months. For reference, I am a 5'6" woman and weigh 136 lbs. I ordered the medium size, and they fit perfectly. I had been debating whether or not to get the large size, but I think the smaller holes on the medium size helped insulate my hands more, and I had no difficulty operating the gears or brakes.

Much Warmer than Gloves alone. But they block my front light, making me invisible from the side
Three rides with these so far and while they're not perfect, they are a VAST improvement over gloves alone. I have really long skinny fingers, so finding gloves that fit is nearly impossible. Even men's extra large sizes are often too short in the fingers, but they're so big around that my hands just swim in them - and all the bulk tends to cut off my circulation which makes matters worse. Plus, I've got "issues" with cold fingers - once they get cold it's like the blood just stops circulating or something so no amount of insulation helps. These have allowed me to wear my thinner gloves which actually fit and don't cut off my circulation. So far I've used them down into the high 30s and stayed nice and warm. Today I tossed one of those chemical hand warmers in each one to create a nice little "micro climate" which helps my finger "issues" tremendously.I have only two complaints. First, some air does come in from the openings, so the backs of my hands get a bit cold. On the advice of other posters, I got the large size, so maybe a medium or small would have made that less of an issue? I'm thinking of trying to rig some sort of "puff" around my wrists or something to keep the cold air from getting in. I'll look ridiculous, but who cares! Or maybe if I keep looking I can find some slightly thicker gloves which would also help. The second problem is that my light is now positioned between the two bar mitts, making it pretty much invisible from the side. So I'm currently trying to figure out if I can get some sort of clip-on LEDs or something to attach to the outside of them after dark to make sure that I'm good and visible to turning vehicles. Anybody have any suggestions?

Great for winter riding
If you want to ride your road bike in the winter, get these. Your hands will thank you. It's slightly more difficult to shift gears with them on, but not enough to be dangerous or annoying. Make sure you take them off when it gets warmer, or your hands will get overheated.

Toasty Hands!
The XL size is perfect on my road cycle, and lets me wear my cycling gloves down to the 30’s here in Denver.
