Phenomenal!
Couldn't put it down, very interesting read. I'll be recommending to all of my friends interested in history and the evolution of primary kingdoms and empires like Armenia that have lasted for millenia.

Historically a Battleground then Subject to Genocide -- True Survivors
For almost all of their history Armenia served as a buffer between East and Western Powers. Since the beginning their hardy nature and ingrained patriotism saw them through that coupled with their deeply held religious beliefs has allowed them to rise from the ashes; a state that was further exacerbated by the Ottoman Empire's attempt to wipe them from the face of the earth between 1915 and 1923. I personally feel it was long overdue for the US Senate to recognize this atrocity which they did with a resolution that passed 12 December 2019. These two volumes describe the above in succinct and direct manner.

Couldn't Put it Down
It is so disturbing to read about the horrible way those poor people were treated! I just have a hard time accepting genocide, I me, how do people rationalize it? That being said, this book bundle was a page Turner for me. I had already read the Armenian Genocide one, but it was interesting enough to reread and the accompanying bookcase it all the more fascinating. I truly give the Armenian people credit for their steadfast pride and determination to remain themselves, and try to beat the yoke of oppression!

Real Neat Information !!!
An interesting study on one of the first civilizations & to be Biblically related makes it more relevant . This is what makes Captivating History so meaningful. To take a civilization & to show the big picture of how it relates to the rest of the world through accomplishments & failures . Many of their books could be used in a college survey course & certainly as supplemental texts in high school!

Not credible
I looked at their citations and all they had was a bunch of URLs. This is strange for an academic work. The websites that they used were unfamiliar to me or did not have much credibility. I could not finish this book because I didn’t respect it. It might be credible but based on their sources I do not recommend the book.

A horrifying but uplifting read
Good overview of Armenian history and the resiliency of a people. Being located in prime territory is both a boon and a bane, as well as being between or in the path of empires. Where many peoples have disappeared in this situation, the Armenians have survived. The Genocide is a painful read, but with a hopeful future. Check it out.
