Read this book
Because the genocide was between two world wars it has been overlooked. History courses gloss over it but focus on the Jewish holocaust. After all the murders only about 400,000 out of 2million survived. But as Hitler said. "Who remembers armenia?

50/50
A decent enough narrative, but a bit breezy and a touch slanted.

Lacking in scholarship and research
It is impossible to not be sympathetic to the author's topic, but I have some issues with how this writer presents history. His sources all seem to be from the web, meaning that no primary sources, such as original documents or books written by others, are utilized. I would hardly call this proper research on such a vital subject; in fact, it seems downright lazy. This is an interesting narrative, but the author does not include a single first person account. The most compelling books on the Holocaust that I have read have either been solely first person accounts or almost exclusively based on such accounts. These narratives personalize the tragedies, giving the horrors human faces, but they are lacking in this book. So the author is churning out book after book in his Captivating History series, apparently relying mostly on the web for information. Making history more accessible is laudable, but how much depth and accuracy are sacrificed in the process?

Another 'Captivating' Book
Just a few weeks ago I started reading Captivating History. I had read two or three different books so far. This book in particular was different then the others I read. In the sense the writers style has developed since this project first started. One of the most notable characteristics of the book was it's detail and the authors ability to guide your journey through narration. Reminded me a lot of a chapter of Howard Zinn or a topic essay due to the multitude of perspectives and information in each section. If your interested in developing a thorough understanding, Captivating History does a good job at capturing a snapshot of history larger in scope then normal entry-level books.

Horrific
I knew about the Genocide, but this quick read really breaks your heart, and shows we must never forget these horrifying events. Good source material. Worth the read. I hope the rest of Captivating History is as good. Check it out.

Informative Read
This part of history is swept under the rugs because it is shameful. This is a read that will give you information that all should read about man's inhumanity to man. A recommended read.
