Yes, to get years of use from your wok, you need to look after it. This needn’t be difficult or intimidating. Here’s the quick start guide. 1. Wash - Scrub the wok well using a steel scrubbing pad with hot, soapy water. 2. High Heat - Move and turn under high heat, until it change to light yellow-bluish colour 3. Oil - Let the wok cool down. Add 2 tbs of peanut oil or oil that is best for high heat. 4. Low Heat - Rub the inner surface with paper towel and under a low heat for 10-15 minutes. 5. Repeat - Until the paper towel become clean (about 3 times).Your wok is now ready to use. 6. After Use - Wash it in hot water only. Do not use detergent or a scrubber. The tips are easy, with a little TLC, this wok will become naturally non-stick over time and will help you to cook delicious, healthy food for years to come.

Q: What is the thickness?

Hello there, our Mammafong wok is made of 16 gauge carbon steel which means the thickness is vary from 1.3mm-1.5mm. I know this may sounds confusing. As our wok is handcrafted and specially designed to have a thick base and thin wall, you may find the base is thicker (1.5mm) than the edge of wok (1.3mm). Q: Where can I get a good lid for this wok?

I am using my existing doom shaped stainless steel wok lid that works very well. Do remember where I got it from.

Q: what is the bottom diameter?

Not sure what you are asking, it is 12" in diameter and 4" deep. It has a rounded bottom with just a small area touching a surface. You would need a wok stand to place it on your range burner. Hope this helps.

Carbon steel wok quality is good. Comes with instructions on how to use it and maintain over time.Seller service was good. Product arrived when it was supposed to.

Poor quality, rust after one use

Don’t absolutely buy this wok. After the first use it rusted even thought I followed all the instruction to season it. The wok can not be used anymore as dangerous for the health. Is very bad quality although is pretty expensive. Stay away from it!
