Good stuff
Mr. Surfacer is great for filling in gaps and for creating surface texture, like what you see on cast tank armor. I use the various thicknesses, and the 1200, being a thinner consistency, flows better into thin cracks and is great for a less defined surface texture. It can be sanded down easily. These products have lots of uses.

An excellent primary primer to use in your airbrush.
I've recently got back into building plastic model Hasegawa 747s over the past couple months. Primer is an important thing to use so that it'll reveal the assembled model flaws prior to painting. The Mr. Surfacer 1200, again not sure if that means 1200 grit sandpaper feel, maybe it does, maybe it does not, is an excellent primary primer application when you start your painting process for your assembled plastic model kit, whatever it may be.To use it, you have to and i mean HAVE TO, its MANDATORY, to stir the straight out of the bottle, Mr. Surfacer 1200, first! Next you will need to dilute the Mr. Surfacer 1200 with a Mr. Leveling Thinner, NO EXCEPTIONS. To do so, put 1:1 or 50/50 mix of Mr. Leveling Thinner with Mr. Surfacer 1200 into a separate container, stir it well and pour into your airbrush. Set the PSI to about 20 and prime away! The drying time depends on factors such as humidity and temperature, usually a ball park figure of about 20-30 minutes in between coats is ideal. It dries into a smooth finish to start examining your assembled model kit flaws. However, you could stop at the Mr. Surfacer 1200 and then paint your base coat color or could prime again with Mr. Surfacer 1500. Mr. Surfacer 1500 is a more finer finish which will give a really smooth foundation for your pigments.I highly recommend Mr. Surfacer for all your airbrush primer needs! A MUST-HAVE for hobby enthusiasts!

Perfect for light scratches you'd normally see on CD's or DVD's
My Weapon of choice: GSI Creos Mr. Procon Boy PS-289 0.3.Review:As the title states this is perfect for scratches you'd normally see on normal wear and tear on CD's and DVD's. I haven't used any other surface but logically I'd recommend the 1200 for plastic models. One size up to say 1500 (keep in mind the higher the number = less gritty) wouldn't do much. I'm pretty sure if you had a scratch you deemed for 1500; that the normal paint technique of Primer, Base Coat, Color Coat, and Top Coat would have filled it in without the 1500. The only reason I can foresee me having a need for surfacer under 1200 would be if I started to carve out a panel line and accidentally slipped off the guide tape and made a scratch a little deeper than a scuff. However, more often than not, I've been able to buff that kind a scratch out at least to a point where I know that the 1200 would fill it in. Love this stuff and it's color. This stuff is of course gritty compared to regular paints. This stuff will need to be thinned only a little. I recommend using Mr. Color Leveling Thinner.
