Q: Anyone know if this hand controller has the fix for the GPS rollover issue?

I know this is an old question, but short answer is yes! Providing you have the latest hand controller software. Because these units are new, they may have been sitting a long time, so you'll have to update the hand controller, which isn't too hard.

Q: Does it come with the cable that connects to the telescope?

My telescope came only with provisIon for BATTERIES. This I have found to be unsatisfactory so I have purchased a cable and small ac power adaptor. The adaptor is: input 100 -240Volts Ac and output 11 - 13 volts. This is available from Amazon and works very well. If you plan to use your telescope remote from plug in electricity then I suggest you purchase a large 12volt power supply and again there is a selection of such power supplies with cables suitable for your particular Celestron

Q: Can I "downgrade" the firmware to v4.22, or early v5?

I don't think so, but I have never tried that.

Q: Will this controller work on an old Celestron nextar 114gt?

I’m pretty certain you need one of the older version 4 controllers for that model- maybe on Craig’s List or on the Anacortes used ads

So far so good

Haven’t yet had a good chance to run it through its paces but seems to work fine. My original one had a fading a funky read out so was pretty much not useable.

Good upgrade for older Celestron NextStar hand controller.

Latest version of the NextStar+ hand controller. The firmware still needs to be updated. The usb interface makes it easy to update without serial to usb interface.
