Sturdy, Quality Clock, But Not Inexpensive
I guess the old saying "You get what you pay for" applies here. When you first open the package, you'll notice how well it's protected for transit. The manufacturer cares about making a nice presentation, a good place to start. The clock itself is remarkably heavy given its plastic construction, make sure you hang it with a screw and anchor (not included) if possible. I would think a simple nail, or a picture hanger, unless driven into a stud, might invite disaster.I've had problems in the past with clocks which cast too much light, I like my bedroom as dark as possible. Virtually all of the light on the dial comes from an LED at the bottom which throws the illumination upward, not outward, so this should not disturb your sleep. I had considered getting the white faced dial, but I was afraid it might be too bright, so I settled on the black face. The second hand sweeps silently so there's no ticking to annoy you. While this is not a radio controlled clock, in 24 hours it has not lost even a second when compared with my other Marathon, a radio controlled clock, so I think it will be accurate. In summary, if you have the extra money for this admittedly not-cheap clock, this probably will last you a long time. And it's very nice to look at.

Too hard to read at night from a distance
If I'm watching TV from ~14 ft. away and then look at this clock, I have to wait a while for my eyes to adjust to be able to read it, and it's still hard after that. Can't immediately tell which hand is minute/hour. Even with the TV off this is hard to see from that distance. During the day no problem but I wish I could adjust the brightness. I have both the mini and desk Marathon alarm clocks and love those both. This might be good in a smaller room, but for me it's too far away to read at night, and does not justify a near $100 price tag at all.

Great Wall Clock
I can always trust Marathon for a solid product. The light runs off of a separate battery than the clock which is very nice. Legible, looks great, and the sweeping seconds hand is nice if you're into mechanical watches or hate that ticking sounds from normal wall clocks. Would buy again!

Very well built
The clock is very well built like all things I've bought from marathon, you know it's going to last a long time . It's very easy to read in the daylight but at night the the night light shines from the very bottom and causes a bad shadow on the hands that makes it hard to read unless you are looking at it from straight on . I would still recommend it despite that shortfall.

Lasted less than 3 years
I purchased this clock in December, 2017. It worked as advertised until August, 2020. Regardless of battery brand, it simply would not function. There was no indication of damage. I contacted Marathon, but got no response. I had been interested in their watches, but the failure to even respond to my support request tells me that I should look elsewhere. Despite their reputation as makers of tough timepieces, this clock proved to be another disposable product, and not particularly inexpensive at that. I will not purchase Marathon products again.
