Small, sturdy box. Portable to carry outside.
Happy to receive the Palette box with slots. I use this to seal gouache paint as advice from a painting prof. Make sure to turn it the right way so each latch is aligned to each lock before clicking them shut.

Leaks
Took a very long time to get here and when it finally did- it leaks. I tilted it after putting my paints in to test it and immediately the paints began mixing with eachother :( Good if you just keep it flat on your desk but be careful if you travel anywhere with it

This item seemed to be expensive but I really wanted to be able to save my paints. It works wonderfully. Seals air tight so that the paint stays moist. Should have ordered two.

Perfect for watercolor artists!
I was looking for a decent quality pallete for my tube watercolor paints when I came across this one. I have to say I really love this, it's much better than other pan palletes primarily because it really is airtight. It does have a thumb ring on the back to hold it while painting.It's made of a decent arylic that's fairly durable and had silicone seals which creates the perfect airtight seal. My paints don't dry out and I don't have to worry about them spilling if the tray gets flipped for some reason.I do wish there were more individual compartments but at only $9.99 buying more to accommodate me won't break the bank. It's significantly cheaper than most pan sets currently available. It does lack an actual pallete but it's not the end of the world in my opinion as it's more about quality storage for me. You could use the lid for mixing but I suggest you clean it before closing it so you don't contaminate paints you are storing.While I wouldn't use it for oils or acrylics (you could if you wanted to) because the areas are about the size of a half pan, they are absolutely perfect for tube watercolor as well as storage for mixing your own custom colors.If you are into watercolor painting you definitely need this in your tool box!
