M.A.D Skincare Delicate Skin Redness Rescue, 1 Ounce

As a lifelong sufferer of rosacea, MCAS (mast cell disorder – basically, allergies to most everything), and now, adult acne except with the addition of post-menopausal dry skin, attempting to arrive at the perfect facial care regimen has been… complicated, to say the least. M.A.D's Redness Rescue is a holy grail product for me. Full of skin soothers and anti-inflammatory ingredients, its gel formula will work equally well on oily or dry skin – just apply the appropriate-strength moisturizer on top. Redness Rescue has allowed me to use a 2% BHA every day, which would normally be too strong of an exfoliant for my sensitive skin. I can also put a dab on my cheeks whenever they're feeling irritated by environmental factors such as sun, wind, or cold.So few skincare products use strict science and experimental research results to formulate their skincare; too many just have a lot of crap in them that make them smell better, or include trace amounts of buzzy ingredients while heaping in loads of cheap crap that is sensitizing to 2/3rds of the population but is good for marketing. Aside from some blue dye, which I can live with, Redness Rescue keeps out harmful and useless ingredients (fragrant plant oils, alcohol, trendy but untested compounds in trace amounts), and keeps the good stuff in at actually-beneficial percentages. The price is worth it! However, please keep in mind that *anyone* can be allergic to *anything*, so if you have any stinging, redness, discomfort, or breakouts from using this product, send it back! But I believe most people will have a good result.Where it fits in your skincare routine: 1) makeup remover (if necessary) and cleanser; 2) toner (optional); 3) exfoliant (AHA or BHA); 4) any medications you may use, such as retinoids or benzoyl peroxide (if using benzoyl peroxide, give it about 5 minutes to sink in before the next step); 5) spot treatments and serums, if desired; 6) M.A.D REDNESS RESCUE; 7) moisturizer (p.m.) / moisturizer plus SPF 30+ sunscreen (a.m.) – if your a.m. moisturizer does not contain sunscreen, be sure to apply your sunscreen last, and liberally!I hope this helps!

Rosacea can be a very unpredictable skin disorder and I suffer from it personally. If I eat spicy food or go out on a windy or cold day, my rosacea can flare up substantially. This cooling and calming gel feels good on my face and temporarily reduces redness. I still have some redness but it is much less than normal. I even find this is good if I get a little too much sun.This feels a bit like an aloe vera gel in the way it soothes irritation but there is none of the sticky residue. You can't really use aloe vera if you plan to leave the house! With this you can put it on and it totally absorbs.I have noticed that while using it I've had much less breakouts. I will admit that when I first used this I broke out a little more for a day, but then it all subsided. Also the hydration can make your skin look a little redder at first. But hours later you can tell a difference and your skin looks like it has calmed down.I've been using this two to three times a day and I think that is probably normal. It seems more effective the more I use it. So if you are looking for rosacea relief, try this and see how it works to calm skin so it is less irritated.~The Rebecca ReviewP.S. - 2/17/2021 - I'm still using this but it works even better in combination with the M.A.D. sulfur mask. When my rosacea flares up I use the sulfur mask several times a day and use this redness reducer afterwards. Works even faster in that case. It is really scary how rosacea can flare up so easily. At least now I know what to do to recover in a few days!

Does absolutely nothing, waste of money - do not buy

Instantly relieves redness. Great moisturizer.
