OXO Good Grips 3-in-1 Egg Separator

I primarily purchased this product to be used as an egg separator but thought the other features would be useful. I have purchased other OXO Good Grips products and they have all been of good build quality.This product is a "3-in-1" egg separator:- It has a ridge for cracking eggs- It separates eggs- It hooks onto bowlsThe ridge for cracking eggs is actually quite good and convenient. I usually use the backside of a knife which works most of the time but depending how tough the shell is can cause pieces of shell to fall in with the egg. This product provides quite a clean break provided you hit hard enough (not too hard!)The egg separator (my main reason for buying) is ok. It does the job but I find you do need to run a utensil along the underside of the separator to actually get the white to separate, otherwise it just "hangs" there still attached to the yolk.I don't really find the bowl hook to be all that useful for me but it seems sturdy enough. As above though if I am trying to separate eggs then i end up having to remove from the hook to run something along the bottom to separate white and yolk.In my view a bit overpriced for what it is - if you're just looking for an egg separator I think there are cheaper options that are just as effective.

Thought it would be good as Oxo is a brand I always trusted but the gaps are so wide that the yolk ends up going through them before being able to get all the egg white separated. Haven’t managed to separate one egg properly yet and end up doing it the traditional way...

I loved the feel of this product but when I tried to separate the white from the yolk the yolk slipped through too

the most useless item i have ever purchaced. does not do what it says .dont buy.

Very disappointed with this item; the slots at the side where the white of the egg goes through are so large, that the yolk then follows it! Ridiculous!
